  1. That's awesome... I never looked at the bottom of GPA for this issue until now... ( 0.5 ) Sgnt series/Incomplete/Signed by Lee/McFarlane (1) $230 - - - $230 Apr-2017
  2. Dammit! You guys are going to end up making me buy this entire run... My priority right now is a nice raw #130 though... Spider-Mobile!
  3. ahhh... I didn't realize, but I hear you now. So, yeah... not so much in the giant-sizers, but definitely when the stories started going multi-issue (especially when they were just 2-part stories)... loved that
  4. I feel like it used to signal the beginning of something more grand... with everything these days being written for the trade it hardly matters anymore, but back then... and even when I started reading in the early 90's, multi-part stories were more exciting... I think there was an early 90's ASM story that involved Silver Sable... it had a similar "Part 1," so I remember that... I dunno. It just seemed to mean something special b/c not every 6th issue was a "part 1" to something
  5. I've been wanting to pick up a 1st Warlock for a while now, but I really couldn't figure out where to put the money down... Picked up the Thor 165 though, so let's see what happens... At least I'm along for the ride now!
  6. I picked up the Thor 165 8.5 from CLink... Maybe overpaid a little after taxes, shipping, and fees, but it was still one of the best deals I saw at the time. ("at the time" being "last night" )
  7. Why the ToD 10? I was thinking of parting with my copy to see if I could upgrade as I'm already way ahead, but... did I miss a Blade announcement, or is that just guessing?
  8. Might be old news, but I just noticed that Stan will be at HeroesCon this year in Charlotte... I'm a little scared to crack my gift 9.0 for an SS, but I'm desperately hoping he's taking commission requests!
  9. My absolute favourite thing about this is the "Part 1" in the upper-right corner EDIT: what a cool story title too... another thing that seems to be missing these days...
  10. yeah, but that's a lot of originals to pick up, and I kinda want to read them now I'll search out the MMW again... those are pretty sturdy and shouldn't put too much of a dent in the original copy budget... Thanks for the suggestions!
  11. FF Omnibus Volume 2 seems to be the only hardcover with these issues... does that sound right? Freaking things are *expensive* :-/ EDIT: Ahh... that actually ends at 60 anyway...
  12. FF 16... First appearance of Reed's guinea pig I hear that the next movie will be a prequel in which Reed invents the microwave. Charlie will play an integral role in testing.
  13. oh, nice! That is, to my knowledge, the first post of mine to which you ever responded... wondering who owned it! Although that might have been over on the old Valiant boards many many years ago. (although less than 16) Glad to know it's in good hands! If Vin, as Bloodshot, says, "I am Groot," he is my hero forever.
  14. still holding onto that Rai 0 CGC 10? :-p
  15. Yep... I was thinking about that too but didn't say anything due to the current (seemingly) high prices... Really hoping I can find a way to upgrade to a blue label this year! AND... I am still disheartened, in a way, about DD #1... I let my 4/5-ish copy go here years ago for a couple hundred dollars to pay for rent or something... kept trying to spend about $2k 2011 to replace it with a slightly nicer copy... nothing ever worked! Finally ended up paying a semi-premium for an 8.5 last year, but there's no way I'm letting it go this time unless I upgrade. How can it not be undervalued compared to its peers? Still my favorite character!
  16. This was just solicited, right? Is the release date April 01, 2019 by any chance?
  17. I'm crossing my fingers my next order looks this good! Will see how I do picking up the variants I skipped off of ebay and see what happens...
  18. Eh... I was wrong about exactly what was wrong with that Jae Lee variant... quite a few have those spine bends as above, but that one actually had a tear at the top back...
  19. I'll see if I can find you a good picture when I get off work, but basically they are stacking the books with 2 halves of the stack facing each other (good!), but then they started wrapping rubber bands around the stacks (whereas before they would put the stack in a larger bag and tape the bag tight). So if the rubber bands are too tight and the boards don't extend far enough past the spine, then the rubber band seems to be pinching the book in half almost the same way you'd get off a shelf when people would flip the tops of the books down to get a copy from the back. The most recent example of this was with the Jae Lee variant of Marvel Knights #4, which came in last month's shipment... I just haven't uploaded the scan yet - not really sure if it even shows up, but I'll take a look this evening. EDIT: Actually, you can kind of see it on this DD612... not as pronounced as I've seen it on others and - honestly - it doesn't happen *that* much. I don't order that many monthly books though, and a lot of them are variants, so even a small percentage hurts when some of those variants are so over-priced...
  20. I don't collect many variants, but I *do* collect Daredevil variants... I had to stop ordering them from DCBS though. I can't be paying $50, $100, or more for books that show up in 9.0. I rarely have ever *not* gotten a variant I ordered, but I feel like I'm better off looking on ebay after the fact now as something just isn't working. I ordered the cheap variants on DD 1, so we'll see what happens in that shipment. As of now, however, I'm not paying those premiums. (most problems on on the spine... either due to the small bags/boards they switched to a while ago or maybe rubber-banding instead of taping...)
  21. May have slightly overpaid, but I got the FF 40 from comic connect tonight. Can't wait to read it!
  22. Is there a different letterer credited in the Mexican versions? (I assume the interior is also in Spanish...?)
  23. Thanks for the info again! I think that's what I'm leaning toward... May toss it up on the boards around $5k depending on taxes and blue label prices next month and see what happens... if it goes too low, I'll consign it somewhere with a couple of other TMNT's and cross my fingers (and yeah, looking back I really got a great deal... I'm pretty sure my high bid was $800.01, and I remember waking up early to watch the end of the auction and nervously submit that last bid. Good job 10-years-younger-Self!)
  24. And if my butt looked half that good in spandex I'd be sharing it with the world too
