  1. This CGC 2.5 of Marvel Comics #1 has attracted both CVA and QES stickers the consensus seems to be that's a mighty fine-looking 2.5
  2. The Promise copy of CMA18 had a nice little bump in the recent ComicConnect auction. But probably not enough for the seller to make much profit on this sale.
  3. I was at the theater the day before the opening. There was no poster in the lobby, no flyers, no preview on the other films showing at the cinema, and the TV spots are non-existent. Only some social media PR. Really disappointing!
  4. We are still waiting for the release of Black Adam in Japan, it has to be the last international release date of December 2nd
  5. So, just an update on some information I've discovered about Goseki Kojima and his published artworks. There was a press release in 2021 of a couple NFTs for Kojima works currently archived in the Yokote Masuda Manga Museum in Akita Prefecture. While I can find no news of the actual "sale" of the NFTs, which was likely a stupid idea to begin with, what IS interesting that the article mentions: "Kojima’s work now exists as a memory of his life. After his death in 2000, the Goseki Productions was set up to manage the copyright of his work and preserve his legacy. The organization has more than 65,000 original artworks by Goseki Kojima." And through another article about the archiving of published works by a Hungarian researcher working at the museum, you can see some actual LW&C published pages being scanned and archived at the museum. So there you have it folks! Literally his entire published life's work is preserved for the public to enjoy for future generations at the manga museum in Akita. (update: just a reminder that there are several "clickable" links in this post which will take you to different sources of information, some in Japanese, though)

  7. It has been a while, but I read all 13 of the Wheel of Time books, I like the TV series thus far. The last 3 books or so, were completed by Brian Sanderson - whose writing I enjoyed more than Robert Jordon's. I will also say, that I read all the Game of Throne books and it was a slog, I just couldn't enjoy the books very much - too dark and bloody. However, I did enjoy the GOT TV series much more than the books. Your opinion may vary.
  8. Lone highest 9.9 EQ1 but couldn't get WP
  9. The audio movie was crowdfunded and is currently in post-production, so the episodes are initially available to backers of the project. But it should be released publicly fairly soon, I hope. *edit - episode 4 just announced for release on May 21st for backers
  10. @Buzzetta I've listened to episode 2 and 3 and they are really well done - far beyond an audio book reading. Yes, closer to an old radio drama. There is additional --script dialogue and narration for the story to deal with the lack of visual art Elfquest is known for, and the sound effects and background music are top notch. Keep in mind each character is voiced by a separate actor. Imagine trying to render the following scene with to an audio-only format. Redlance at death's door in the desert with his lifemate (Nightfall) trying to reach him by "sending" and recalling memories together... I was skeptical at first as well, but the example of this particular audio scene was very moving and successfully captured the feeling of the Elfquest saga. If I had to venture a guess, this endeavor could take a further step later in the process and add animation with the soundtrack as is. I know that an anime format would reach a larger audience, and perhaps those discussions are already being done behind closed doors in Hollywood.
  11. Perhaps a Swedish price stamp? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Öre
  12. one price drop before closing
  13. Just for clarification. Was this transaction begun on these chat boards?
  14. In case you are wondering, my (respectable) presser looked it over and thinks there is a 50/50% chance for a bump to VF- if you are willing to work on the small stain on the back cover. I decided not to do it, but you might have a higher threshold for risk.

  16. Epic Illustrated 1 to me seems like an ice cold sleeper. It ticks all the boxes for me: 1) awesome cover by Frank Frazetta 2) number 1 issue in the series, those always sell well, right? 3) cool Surfer and Galactus story 4) (my favorite) first appearance of "The Preservers" from the Elfquest saga - this has not been recognized by cgc on the label, but confirmed by Richard Pini the creator 5) high grade issues can be had for under $100! (I'm sorry I missed the 9.4 cgc that sold on ebay for $35)
  17. A Mary Marvel 1 cgc 9.2 (CVA) hit $4315 at the end of January on CL. I wonder how high this 9.4 WP copy will go on HA?
