I bought a CGC book from 8Ten once, it was a United Comics 21 (first Peanuts app.) CGC 3.5 if I remember correctly. It was a good deal and I followed the trail a bit. The book was sold from a guy I found on Facebook, he said it sold to a guy in Singapore. The book supposedly never made it to that buyer and showed up a year later on 8Ten. There's a youtube video or three about 8Ten.

Frank Herbert's DUNE from Legendary Pictures (TBD)
BanjerD replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
My 19 year old daughter wants to see the film just because Zendaya is in it. I read the first few books. I liked the 1984 Lynch version and I also appreciated the 2000 Sci-Fi Channel miniseries as well - that was a 6 hour series, if I remember correctly. They are all good adaptations, in my opinion, this newest version as well! -

I saw it Sunday night in Japan. No spoilers. Opening weekend and only two other guys in the auditorium for the subbed version. I think the Japanese audience were filling the seats of the dubbed version. It was a little distracting having so many Marvel/DC/Star Wars actors in this film... but Oh well -
I bought this recently, but I have decided to catch and release for what I have into it, mostly quoting Comicnoir for this: For Sale: Funnyman #1, Important comic history as the second creation by Siegel & Shuster. Fell shy of the first one. Not found too often. There is a spine split from the bottom staple down, although the staple remains attached. Top staple attached. Centerfold attached. A 4.5 sold for $960.00 in January. Previously a 2.5 sold for $675.00. 3.0 condition. Returns accepted within a week. Buyer pays return postage. $750.00 shipped from NY within the US.

sick of seeing (trademark infringing) Peanuts cartoons on social media!
BanjerD replied to BanjerD's topic in Comics General
I just knew you cheeky bastages would post a bunch of Peanuts memes in my thread. -
I love Peanuts and the characters, that is why it irks me to no end to see Snoopy, Charlie Brown and other characters used for every religious, political, and social issue meme on social media. I know the characters are not being used with permission from the Peanuts Worldwide LLC trademark owners. Who keeps cranking out this nonsense? Whether you agree with the message/meme or not - for the love of Pete don't share that! * and please think before you reply on this thread, absolutely no political, religious, socially divisive posts per the rules of the forum*

If the centerfold is attached firmly at centerfold, I would say 3.0, but that stain(s) top left could pull it down to 2.5 or lower.

I recently acquired the sketch from another collector. I wish the CGC label would note the "first appearance of Elfquest Petalwing and the Preservers", but oh well. I also noticed that they misspelled "Wendy Pini" on the label
-
The Epic Illustrated 1 had the first appearance of Petalwing and the Preservers, predating their Elfquest appearance. I have an original Wendy Pini color sketch of Petalwing, also from 1980, same years as Epic 1. This predates the appearance of Petalwing in Elfquest #10 magazine 1981.

$ WTB Ethel Hays line art from the 1920's-1930's

I'm trying to find this particular artwork. Cathy 1 doesn't seem to be on the boards any longer. I tracked this piece down to a Grapefruit Moon Gallery in Minneapolis who said they sold it at a "Live" event and don't have any info on the buyer. Anyone seen this piece? https://grapefruitmoongallery.com/54488 -
I had a smooth transaction with Ken buying two nice GA books! Good communication and fast shipping! Thanks. Daniel M

No problem buyers or HOS, please. Payment will be PayPal "Goods and Services". I can take check or money order, and ship after it clears. Shipping is included from Japan to just about anywhere. Tracking and insurance included. No returns on CGC books, but on raw books I will accept returns within 7 days. Regular rules apply, first "I’ll take it" in the thread prevails over PM negotiations. <------ my kudos thread in my profile These are VF/NM (or better) first printings with dust jackets. Each Japanese issue reprints 3 issues, so this 18 book lot is equivalent to issues 1~54, and yes these are thick and heavy. They do fit in CGC holders if you are inclined to get them slabbed. More info about the various printings here (#1 had 12 printings) http://www.spawnworld.com/books/international/japan/dengeki_ongoing/dengeki_ongoing001_v01.htm
