  1. Spidey now has a sidekick??!! https://apple.news/AToYkRUKJN0-ygq4Iz0V9BA
  2. I’d like to see what the boardies here think of as their top 10 favorite covers, but I’m guessing since there are 178 pages to this thread, it’s back there somewhere. Well it’s a rainy Saturday. It’ll be more fun to go thru this string than all the other stuff I should be doing.
  3. That is odd to me. Because if I remember correctly, you even said the amf 2/3 office mock up copy was incomplete
  4. I watched that “cobbled together” Cap 1 sell, and thought seriously about bidding. I agree it went low. Although if given a choice I’d take an original book, I don’t mind “married” parts as long as they are all originals; i.e., not reprints or color reproductions. When I first saw the practice of pages being sold separately, I thought it was crazy. But I have found that in the right circumstances, they can be fun to own. I wouldn’t think there would be much enthusiasm out there for pages that aren’t from keys, but what do I know. Having said all that, the idea of tearing books apart just to sell them by the page makes me a bit squeamish Hey, bluechip, was that your Tec 27 page set that was recently on eBay? I thought that was a marvelous piece of history
  5. I was thinking about you on this one, Gotham Kid! Got room for one more?
  6. That’s funny woowoo! Kraft has gotta be setting records for the most costly 15 minutes on the planet. And from what I’ve read, he could probably benefit from a different lawyer
  7. I posted on this elsewhere, so if this sounds familiar to anyone, there’s a good reason for that. since I cannot open my encapsulated Cap 1, the possession of a slabbed page creates a synergistic effect that enhances the pleasure of ownership
  8. 8 more days. These seem unnecessarily long
  9. Based on your previous comments, the answer is rather obvious that upgrading a book helps a business be profitable. If I misunderstood your sentiment, my apologies. Yesterday you dismissed the views of a fellow boardie who objected to the actions of book mechanics as "extreme". I don't agree that objecting to the actions of a book mechanic represents an "extreme" point of view. Having spent $50k on a Clink auction book 6 months ago, only to find out in subsequent boardie discussions that it had been deconstructed by someone trying to upgrade it, you'll have to forgive me if i'm a bit touchy on the subject. Let me be clear: I have no patience for people who upgrade without disclosing it AT the time of sale. Shipping it to auction is not disclosing at the time of sale.
  10. Whenever I hear that us noobs need an explanation for why it’s ok to improve a book, I check to make sure my wallet is still in my pocket.
  11. The gap widens. I may have to embrace the possibility my prediction was wrong.
  12. I’ve gone from 30 books to 7. But it’s hard to stop there. I keep wanting to pick up more and I have to keep reminding myself not to. Ricksneatstuff, im looking at you when I say that
  13. Texas is one that still doesn’t charge. That’s why I prefer to buy from Clink and CC over Heritage. Heritage collects since they have their brick and mortar HQ here
  14. I like the eye appeal of both, but I think you are right about the rusty staple. At least the top one
