  1. That’s funny, woowoo. Not dumping Bat 1. But as I look around and wonder what might be of equal value to the world, it’s AF 15 I keep coming back to. I looked hard at Cap 1, but the value(aka interest) has been dropping. The mods jumped me for suggesting in another thread the reason for the tanking might be that Cap is just a little too jingoistic, given our current state of affairs. Spidey seems to be embraced worldwide with fervor equal to Batman. I love Bat 1 and it’ll have to be pried from my cold dead fingers. But I’m looking for that next mountain. I’ve looked at Incredible Hulk 181, and that book seems to have staying power. Today’s younger generation coming into the hobby guarantees a future there. Clink has a 9.8 at $36k ending tonight, but I have no personal connection to it. AF 15 has a lot of parallels to Bat 1 and that’s what I think and that’s all I’m saying. And if I can’t share my innermost thoughts with you, my buds, what good are the Boards anyway?
  2. So, bumping this thread. I see Clink just sold an AF 15 7.0 for $85k. I don’t follow those books even though I love Spidey too. Just seems like it’s too easy, I guess. Am am I missing the boat? Should I be jumping on one of them?
  3. I don’t know if this has already been posted(hey, this thread is up to 211 pages!), but it’s a shame this one is so rare. The lurid double entendres make this a truly standout issue. And there are only 6 on the census!
  4. I keep scans of all my books, so I can always retrieve the numbers should the need arise. But your post makes me think I should also keep the CGC numbers in my hard copy records, like you.
  5. Seems like people stack these slabs any which way. Sideways w/spine down, sideways w/spine up, flat on their backs, or upright
  6. Having just come thru a 2 year audit, I can tell you the IRS will ask for your paypal records. I don’t know why, because other posts I’ve seen suggest that paypal already sends records to the IRS. Fortunately, my 2 years of hell ended with “no adjustments” imposed by those IRS pirates.
  7. Lucky for me, Chase bank has a bunch available. I think I made a mistake by getting the 10” by 10”, because I have to put the books in sideways and lay them with the spine side down. I’ve worried about the long term effects and will be going back and swapping to the 20” by 10” so I can store them upright.
  8. Texas is one of the states that hasn’t come up with the legislation to tax auction houses located elsewhere and selling to Texas buyers. But for the auction houses located IN Texas, they are supposed to collect taxes, and Heritage does it to me every time
  9. So you’ve mentioned some of the signs of pressing: staple stress and shrunken covers. Are there other signs I should look for?
  10. First of all, I get no respect. Second of all, the esteemed authority Wikipedia has forgiven me . . .
  11. You are too modest. I’ve looked for a decent copy for years and haven’t found one. I thought my lack of success indicated it was very much appreciated
  12. It hurts to see the Actions all squashed up in that wire display rack
  13. 20 years ago I remember trying to sell what would have graded out as a 7.0 to the late, great Bruce Ellsworth at a dallas fantasy fair. This is a great book!
