You bet! I'm up to 38/80 now. More coming I hope! However, I'm getting into the 4 figure books now so it's going to slow down considerably. I've decided to keep this one even though I sort of overpaid: Covers like that are why we love GA!

Don't start buying Seven Seas comics. It's a horrible addiction that just makes the rest of us pay higher prices for the infrequent copies that show up for sale. Stick to safe stuff like X-Men or Spidey. Trust me on this.

Those would definitely do it! I am still having nightmares over the copy of 6 that Skybolt said he got for VG guide. Actually it was the #5 issue, and it graded out at 4.5 (which I was happy with). That's a little better, but not much. $60 at Wondercon 1992. Water damage on bottom that doesn't show well in the scan.

"Bondage cover Fiction Houses" is almost redundant. Nice book, btw, October. Since you wouldn't sell me that Terrors 20, how about you sell me the Fight 41? Nope. though I am pleased that you have found a new book to bug me about! My plan is to find a beautiful Fight Comics 35 at Wondercon then have you bug me for a while. Or maybe a Seven Seas 4 or 5... Or a square Jumbo 100... Or...

This is the reason I love GA books. They tell it like it is. That's gotta hurt. That guy's past hurt and into dead.

Hmmm.... High-end comics being displayed on beds. is that like porn for comic book geeks? (On topic: Following Wondercon I'll post my Fiction House collection. I plan on buying GGA almost exclusively.)

Betty. Nice book. Any early Archie in high grade is always a good pick-up.

This arrived in the mail today: I've determined slabs are to prevent drool from damaging the comic. The book was purchased from Steve Wyatt, who is one of my favorite dealers out there.

As one who has a nascent Octopus cover collection, you guys have now made me very happy and very sad. Happy to find a few other covers, sad because they're probably out of my current price range. Other octopus covers include Rangers 39 (tentacles only) and Seven Seas 3.

Awesome books, Bill! The Bruce Gentry is one of favorite GGA covers. There should be a special category for books with uber-headlights covers! A "High Beams" thread?
-
Very nice! Do you own the good parts or the boring parts? Phantom Lady only has good parts. Or were you referring to the comic itself?
-
Perhaps a bit premature to start handing out cigars, but I now own 16% of this book. Steve Wyatt owns the rest, but it will reside in my collection in several months. I'm excited because this is a beautiful copy and my favorite Phantom Lady cover.

Shawn, those are some awesome books. Did you get them online, or locally? -Chris A1. Ask Brian about the big golden age collection he recently obtained.

Last one. Jumbo 119. I'm contemplating going for GGA crocodile covers once I compete my GGA octopus cover collection.

Purchased this today, not from October, even though I've been bothering him for six months or so to sell me his copy. I can no longer do this to him: It came from the collection Brian Peets purchased recently. I'm posting my Jumbos from that collection in the Fiction House thread.

Change in printing technology at the time. Four colors became available instead of the usual three. This was such a breakthrough discovery that an entire line of successful comics was named after the new tech. Sidenote: I have a bridge for sale. PM me if interested.

Very nice....any restoration or was this from an OO....looks sweet Scans make the books look a bit better than they do in real life. Either the 43 or 44 has a slight bend in the cover like the book was almost folded. As far as I know, the books I bought have no restoration. I don't think they were from an OO collection. LCS bought 3 longboxes of GA books. Two were just Fiction House, the last one GGA, silver DC war, and pre-code horror. Most of the books are low to mid grade with maybe 20% or less being fine or better beauties. Sean, How new is this collection. I saw some of the "new" books during the thanksgiving sale. Are these even "newer". If so, I may have to take a stroll down there. See any Nedors or MLJ's? -Chris Don't know about Nedors or MLJs, but the collection is so new you'd have to ask Brian about it directly. It hasn't been integrated in to the regular stock.
