  1. Hmmm. So the bottom line is still, did the other sale take place before you posted. If so and the thread it wasn't updated, it certainly qualifies for poor form. Hopefully the seller will be honest and sell the book to the first true .
  2. Good point GA! I've posted via PM and I've also received them via PM, and I agree these are just as valid as one posted in a thread--time stamp is the name of the game in that instance. Some sellers outright specify thread as trump thus eliminating any confusion, some accept the timestamp on a PM as a sale. It then depends on the honesty of the seller to post that as quickly as possible(not everyone is around their computer all the time) to maintain the integrity of the process.
  3. I'm not sticking up for the seller, but if he gets back to his computer and finds a PM that has arrived before your thread and it is not specified in his thread what takes precedence, then he could certainly honor the first .
  4. Unfortunately it wasn't clear enough as the above appears to read that trumps offers but not whether it needs to be a thread posted to trump everything, as some sellers specify. If the PM was an accepted offer then it definitely should have been marked as sold when offer was accepted to remove the book from the market.
  5. Love those Superman cartoons, when my daughter was younger she watched them over & over.
  6. Might be a better idea to take the lead and send the info to the buyers in case they don't read this thread. (thumbs u
  7. This past summer I shipped out dozens of posters via USPS using poster tubes and First Class Mail(US cost approx $2.30-2.60, foreign was reasonable esp Canada) and the tubes held up fine, the posters cushioned by a small piece of bubble wrap at end end to prevent bouncing around. I did have to buy two size poster tubes to accommodate the larger ones as well as the standard size, and I would recommend checking out shipping supply prices elsewhere before paying $2.5-$3 each for them at Staples/Office Depot(more for the larger ones).
  8. Sorry to three-post, but if anyone is interested the info can be reached via this link: Comic Book Strip Project
  9. Oh carp, that is a great reference site! I just emailed him to see if there are plans to host it elsewhere or if it available in database form.
  10. Though I'm not sure how long it would take to mobilize General Bittybug's Battalion if they are using snails!
  11. Apparently at 6:41am my fingers found it easier to type "Ed".
  12. The issues to date have been selling PGX books(not allowed), selling PGX books but not showing the label(not allowed), and recently posted books shown in PGX holder (one seller indicated book was unslabbed but no new pic was posted, other indicated book would sell as-is(slabbed) or raw(cracked) based on buyer's preference). If CGC truly feels that any of the above scenarios are unacceptable, then maybe stipulating "raw or CGC only" requires photo of item in it's current state to clarify any potential questions. Flip side is to drop the "raw or CGC only" guideline, depending on how strongly CGC feels about PGX books listed here. (We know how Steve feels. ) On the other hand Sal's post brings up a good question? What constitutes "raw"? I have never tried to crack a slab just enough to remove a label and leave a book in for protection, but is that unreasonable?
  13. I had to backtrack to the PB conversation, yesterday's mail brought one of my favorite Ed Bergey covers:
  14. Mickey should try using the front seat. Front seat is for the customer who puts 25 cents in the slot, Mickey is just there for the licensing check.
  15. He was spotted as the new door man at Chuck e Cheese Excellent news, and I can only assume you have him under constant surveillance? Well, nik is a mechanic and Mickey's car broke down.
  16. Did this topic arise due to "discussion" posts in someone's thread or incessant graemlin posting*? *Of which there is no master other than The greggy.
  17. Well, there is the: "BUYERS When you reply to a sale thread indicating that you'll buy something you must indicate what book you're buying. Otherwise, if someone else is more specific than you are first, your offer won't be considered valid." from the guidelines. The other reference could be from individual threads where sellers indicate " rules" or ":takeit: & PM accepted, timestamps win" type policies.
