  1. The Rat Queens preview in "What's Next" was originally intended to be the first 5 pages of issue 1, but then the -script was tweaked and these five pages were removed. As such, those five pages are essentially the first true appearance of the Queens, and as far as I know those five pages have not yet been reprinted. IMO, that's a book to keep an eye on.
  2. I believe the WD preview is just the first few pages of issue 1 (definitely not original content). IMO, much different than "prequel" pages that are not included in the first issue.
  3. Issue 9 is great, and Stjepan is a great fit. Even better that the book will be resuming a regular production schedule!
  4. IMO, the official Mehdi Cheggour sketch cover CGC SS will be the book to own...but then, I am biased. I'm just surprised there are still copies available for preorder!
  5. Are the Kaiju and Creature Feature variants 1st or 2nd prints...? The print run on Creature Feature is only about 100 as well IIRC.
  6. Step 1) Understand the definition of the term "manufactured collectible" Step 2) Post an intelligent response in this thread Go ahead - we can wait for you to catch up. HINT: "Manufactured collectible" does *NOT* simply mean that the book is manufactured. I've seen you around and you post this a lot on different threads about how variants are manufactured collectibles and people tell you no all comic books are yet you continue. So I'll end the night with the 2 word definition for you from Websters Dictionary...you should check it out sometime. Manufacture - the process of making products especially with machines in factories Collectible - : good for a collection : considered valuable by collectors Try real hard and put those 2 words together ok.....there you go. I knew you could do it! Someone please help him out - he clearly can't do it on his own.

  8. Uh - no. All comic books are periodicals (and "regular" covers are printed to order). On the other hand, printing a variant cover in a limited quantity to sell at a marked up price right out of the gate is a manufactured collectible. Most new variant covers are not only artificially limited, but they are also never available at cover price (and yes, I know that Phantoms are available in Larry's store for cover, but most Phantom retailers sell them at a much higher price on eBay (Larry included). And...while the NYCC variant was also an artificially limited print run, it was (a) only sold for $2, and (b) offered directly through the publisher. To me, that makes it more desirable.
  9. Why not the Hastings? If the NYCC is up there for rarity, I'd think the 1A would be the least desirable as it is probably the most common? I don't like the NYCC cover personally, but I think people are right about it just from reading the responses in this thread. I simply don't care as much for shop variants, in that they are really just manufactured collectibles. In most cases, they also feature cover art by an artist unrelated to the series. Personally, I'd rather have the "regular" #1 than a shop variant. Just my personal take on it. On the other hand, at least the Hastings variant features cover art by co-creator Mehdi Cheggour - so, given a choice I'd definitely take the Hastings over the Phantom.
  10. Awesome seller, gorgeous book, quick shipping, and i paid with Paypal "personal" - no worries here, a fantastic seller.
  11. 13 day window to make the for sure money. After release date, it's gambling time! Will it be good? Will it be GREAT?!!?!?! Or will it stink.....? #Slippers 20 covers SO FAR for Spider-Gwen #1. That's just insane FTFY! (thumbs u (And yes, that IS insane).
  12. That book was ROUGH. "Minor amount of color touch on the cover." Talk about putting lipstick on a pig. Don't see the point of the CT when the back cover and first wrap are missing, and fc is in tatters. That book makes a strong argument for more grades between "NG" and "0.5".
  13. Thanks guys! @Peter - damn - now I have sig line envy! I wish I could drop 8 more books in my sig line all at once. Guess I need to save up!
  14. One more (I'm sure you've all seen this one "around")...
  15. Beautiful book, very easy to deal with - a pleasure. Highly recommended!
  16. Makes me wonder if they hammered the grade due to PQ.
  17. Roc's been in discussions on a few new projects, but I don't think anything has been finalized yet.
  18. Ha - first thing I noticed was the "brown pages". That one is new to me as well! Easily the nicest 1.0 I have ever seen - eye appeal is off the charts. Congrats! Would really like to know why it's only a 1.0.
  19. This was certainly higher than the recent Heritage sale of a comparable book - there was a 5.5 (Conserved) that went for the same price. I don't know if the seller got his full ask of $21,700, but I thought the price was high.
