  1. No, it doesn't impact higher grade pricing...it just makes that buyer a bonafide mo-ron.
  2. oh, come on...have some ambition! I'm thinking 10,000.
  3. Can this issue possibly live up to they hype...?!? Seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt it.
  4. Blocking bidders based solely on feedback (and not just adding their specific user ID to your "blocked bidder" list)
  5. That book has certainly softened in the last month. It was selling for $1400+ pretty consistently for one hot minute, and now it won't move at $1200. I expect it to dip even further (to $1000 or so) over the summer, but it could certainly rebound again in the fall. Just depends on which way you think things will go, and how long you want to hang onto it. I think one thing that plays against this book, despite the general rarity of the issue, is the extremely high CGC census population in grade. Hard to command a premium for a 9.8 when there are 350+ of them out there (and maybe closer to 400 now).
  6. The MODERN AGE ends when the FUTURE AGE begins. ;-)
  7. Issue 1, page 1 from my favorite new book! If you haven't been reading this yet, you should check it out. The first two issues have been very enjoyable.
  8. What I take from this: They hand you the comic, then send you through the gauntlet of zombies, all of whom are trying to beat your brains in for the comic book. The comic books will all be shredded, and none of them will make it outside of the building. Now it sounds like even more fun! Try getting a 9.8 under these circumstances! Maybe CGC will need to institute a new "infected" label...?
  9. Just registered. After the "Mandatory Race Insurance" (WTF...!?!?) and the processing fee, it ends up being $81.85. Feel like I already got molested a little bit.
  10. You should probably sign up now to make sure you're not excluded, Tim.
  11. This sounds pretty cool...might have to check this out.
  12. Please don't suggest that you have not strayed from topic in discussions on this and other threads. The only thing that I am "suggesting" here is that I do not like you or your inherently long, pointless posts. The number of words you use is usually inversely proportional to the quality of the content. Please keep your hateful remarks to yourself. Whether or not you like or do not like me is profoundly less topical to the discussion of the Walking Dead than my aside requesting that Branget contact me if he had any of the books I referenced for sale. This is the kind of inappropriate comments that I requested stop on the boards so that on lookers are not discouraged from posting for fear of having to endure hateful commentaries or engaging in juvenile behavior to fit in. I hope that whatever problems you are having resolve and wish you the best. Please refrain from making personal attacks or insulting me or others in the future. Perhaps you should learn how to use a PM. You hint that branget might "contact you" if he has the books that you want, but then you can't just "contact him" outside of this thread to ask your question...as if, somehow, we all benefit from your post even though it's directed at exactly one member. The only thing discouraging anyone from posting here is having to read your long-winded nonsense all the time. Even a new member with only 72 posts has already learned to ignore you. that didn't take long, did it? If you are that concerned about how you are treated, then just stop acting dumb. Better yet, start a thread (or three) about how boardies should be treating each other. We all love to hear about it from you newbies. Oh, wait...too late. You already did that.
  13. It's a term meant to insult someone who is new to the forum. It is not a term that promotes new membership and it is therefore antithetical to the board's future, the popularity of CGC and the CGC board and generally insulting whether it is intended to be insulting or not. I would appreciate it if you would not use the term to descibe me or anyone else for that matter. That being said, I'm done with these asides and prefer to stick to discussions of the Walking Dead. Really, noob...? I'd say your whole time on this forum has been one long, tedious aside.

  15. Decided to check out an LCS that is 30 minutes away that I hadn't been to before. The store owner is the stereotypical "comic book guy" to a T. I asked him about Thanos Quest and Infinity Gauntlet. He proceeds to tell me that he just bought a set of Infinity Gauntlet, but he isn't sure what he is going to price them at yet since they are going crazy online. He never offered me a price while I was in his store, after having already expressed interest. Then I go to buy his three remaining copies of Walking Dead 93, which have sat unsold for four months now, and he tells me I can only buy two. Does he want to sell his merchandise...or not? And...if I wanted to pay eBay prices for Infinity Gauntlet, I certainly wouldn't drive 30 miles out of my way to do it. ;-)
  16. And...a set of 1 (1st), 1 (2nd), and 1 (RRP) just sold for $137.50. Looks like the average is still closer to $150, though sales vary greatly ($125 - $180)
  17. It was either $900 or $950...just can't remember which. I think it was 900 - still a good return, especially in light of what the cover to 93 sold for and the quick turn around. Not really. After eBay and Paypal fees (and the $20 he probably paid in shipping from Splash Page) he's barely breaking even. Hardly worth the effort.
