I don't think the number is on the scale that you're suggesting. I think it's a fairly small pool of collectors that are paying $50K and up for books. I would be surprised if there are even a million total comic book collectors worldwide. Maybe 10,000 people would be willing to spend $10K on a personal grail? I think the number of prospective buyers probably goes way down as the prices get much higher that than. I consider myself a pretty passionate collector, and I doubt that I would ever spend that much on one book. If I did, it would have to be an amazing deal on a personal grail.

    Interesting.

  2. I struggle with accurate scans/photos constantly when listing on eBay. You scan or take a photo and you get the blue perfect then the green is off.

Or you get all colors and brightness correct then the next comic/card/toy is slightly off.

Who has the 100% solution and I'll look into buying that setup this week. Thing is I need a setup where I'm not tweaking each picture/scan.

Google Pixel is working on an issue where people of color are now able to get better or more accurate photos of themselves. Why has this technology not been around for 20 years?

so what's the over/under on this unrestored 0.5 on Heritage? I mean, it is a pedigree. does is end up more than the last 0.5 copy?

I doubt the pedigree had a factor in final price but yes it went for more even with the tape. $57,600 with fees.

I would not be the least bit surprised to see this sell for over $50,000 — perhaps well over $50,000.

You are the Bat 1 CGC .5 estimation ^^

The Bat 1 3.0 with a lot of tape sold for $192,000

If Bronze and Copper Keys comics are starting to sell for insane prices it's only fitting some love is shown to the Golden Age.

I guess kids really did cut out those back cover pin-ups. I wonder how many back covers have surfaced thru the years

I bought my back cover in Dec 2013 off eBay. I've seen the one that sells every couple years that is trimmed down to the picture but never a full back cover just by itself. Could have missed one sell since I'm not actively looking these days.
