  1. Congrats Jon The 37 was my first pre Robin I had acquired when I got into them. Full moon and rolling fog makes for a good Batman cover 37 was my entry into the club also. Congrats! Love low grade comics that present well and this comic does that.
  2. Thanks but I really don't count the Det 33, 35 or 37 to be in this group. These are comics that I believe require a fanboy like us to appreciate and spend silly amounts on. Yes on my Cap 1, Bat 1 and Det 31. Forget Action 1 and Det 27 those are on another planet and IMO have less room to go up in value. Some examples of what I'm talking about are unrestored low grade Superman 1, Action 7, Bat 1, Cap 1, Det 31, All-Star 8 etc.
  3. Sold. Congrats to buyer and seller. How many unrestored Bat 1's even exist? My guess would be 500 range. Even if 1000 exist that is still low supply. Forget the comic community on this and a few other comics from this period. I feel a lot of people/investors outside comic collectors will continue to see these core group of key low supply comics as a solid investment causing prices to escalate monthly instead of yearly. In 5 years I bet any Bat 1 .5-1.8 with nice eye appeal will be $50K minimum.
  4. Beautiful looking 2.5. Even at the price I was tempted but knew something major had to be wrong for a comic that looks 4.5/5.0 to grade 2.5 Has 6" spine split at top and 2.5" at bottom. Loose from top staple and attached at bottom staple. That barely leaves 2" of spine that is not split. Still a stunner of a comic and should bring close to seller asking price. Would not surprise me if it sold for the asking price either. I would be all over it if price was $40K but then so would a lot of people. Bat 1
  5. Batman comics. Gone Captain America 1. Gone All you have left are some Rom comics. Are you getting out of the lucrative comic scene?
  6. How in the world did UK hang with Florida this year?
  7. In the last 8 years I've come across 2 really nice PCH collections of which I sold everything. If I come across a 3rd collection in the next few years I believe I will be keeping the cool stuff.
  8. Walter Those are some crazy good and scarce comics. Thanks for sharing! Leroy
  9. I did post this in the Comics Market section but not a heavy traffic area at times. Ebay seller comics4less has over 600 pre-code/code horror auctions this week. I don't ever recall this many at one time on eBay from 1 seller. comics4less horror auctions
  10. I had a 7.0 but sold it at SDCC 2014 to help fund the Tec 35 in my sig line. I really missed it after it was gone so this will now get tucked away and it makes me happy again!
  11. I think MM was the boy with the 2nd most comic books in America! Keep em coming!
  12. Nice score. Love the way it presents for a 1.8. Lots of potential for what seems to be the most undervalued of all Pre-Robin Tecs. Dark moody cover. Love it!
  13. what sale was this? a private sale? an auction result? don't remember seeing or hearing about it. Just going off the GPA data. Sold 9/25/2015
  14. pretty much pending eye appeal and PQ. I've been offered more than that price point for my copy recently. What grade is yours? a 2.0, but presents much nicer than most 2.0s-3.0s I've seen. Yes it presents very nice for 2.0 This is the one purchase I did not make that I regret the most of all the times I have passed on a comic. Glad you got it since I didn't. On the other hand it taught me a lesson and that is why I have my Tec #35. If you truly desire to have a rare item in your collection quit whining about the price and manup. Besides in a few years the market will catch up. If not you bought it because you have a passion for it.
  15. Help me with the per point value thing. So lets say .5 1.0 1.5 1.8 and 2.0 are the grades. If you say $20K per point that would be 1.0 value then 2.0 equals $40K? Then just take 75% of the $40K for 1.5 grade? The last .5 incomplete missing back cover sold for $19000. Anyone have a picture of that Bat 1? This is .5 incomplete but as with any comic once you hit SB or Brittle pages it turns off probably 95% of buyers. Eye appeal was definitely lacking on this .5.
  16. Alton Do you still have your Bat #1? If so If not Remember when I had mine at Cincy Con priced so it wouldn't sell. Now it would probably bring 2x that. Leroy
  17. This is a grail piece for me. I grew up on Marie Severin Hulk comics and I probably read TTA 93 and 100 at least 50 times each.
  18. Can I still buy your Bat #1 3.5 at the $49,000 price you quoted me at Heroes 2 years ago?
  19. Was a bunch of TOS 39's just closed at clink. All seemed like solid sales. 9.0 $43,333 7.5 $9,211 6.5 $6,832 5.5 $5,780 4.5 $3,880 3.5 $3,211
  20. Wow! Very nice. Congrats. Just the kind of copy I would like for an upgrade.
  21. Anyone notice that the Detective 31 is now in a 5.0 holder? I guess cgc fixed it Well good for them. It was the right thing to do. I remember looking at comic at SDCC and no spine splits, now splits are visible so more than resub here. I'm not going after the comic but now any unsuspecting buyer not reading the boards will never have to find out years later that he has butt hurt.
  22. Robot Man I welcome you to the club. Excellent page quality.
