  1. After I get my low grade 29 then it'll be OK to make that jump.
  2. I may never own a Det 27 so this will have to do. Action 12 wrap that came out before Det 27. I would guess this is the first ever appearance of Batman in a comic.
  3. I saw that 29 but not the eye appeal I would want for that grade. I know my 31 looks bad but on that comic I took first thing I could find.
  4. I can't remember how. but I'll figure it out in next couple weeks.
  5. I'm glad you didn't get the grader notes. Spine has issues but cover is attached at both staples and probably 4" of spine splitting. Now all I need are 27 and 29. I can see me getting the 29 one day but 27 I would have to sell all in my sig line plus a few more items for a decent presenting low grade copy.
  6. The trimmed out back cover that sold Feb 2015 for $3703 was just like this but was CGC graded to ensure it was legit back cover. This looks and seems real. Curious to see what it will end at myself. I was able to find matching front and back covers on eBay 4 years ago. Sold off the front and kept the back.
  7. Cool story. You seem to have been around a while so share some other comics. We all love looking at covers. Leroy
  8. Very unusual for someone to purchase duplicate and triplicate copies off the rack in the early 1960s. I'll clarify better. He bought comics from 1964 to 1977 off the spinner rack. From 1965 to 1968 he would often buy 2 issues. 1 to read and one to save. He would buy or trade for comics from the early 1960's and liked having more of 1 of the early issues.
  9. Some Silver age goodness from a recent original owner collection I had been working on for a while.
  10. What would you give it on a scale of 1-100? 85
  11. Watched the movie last night. I enjoyed it a lot.
  12. Got this at SDCC last year. Finally got it framed. This is a grail piece for me as I'm a big Marie Severin fan. Her run on Hulk during this period was some of the first Hulk comics I read as a kid. I can remember reading TTA 93 and TTA #100 over and over and over.
  13. Here is my Uthe tale I posted in this thread back in 2007. The events took place in 1985. Still waiting for my Tec38. Wilhelm PM me for my new address so we can close out this deal. Sincerely your pal in the USA. Leroy
  14. Agreed that goes for any hobby. Nah. Just making up a little ground on the Batman/Superman 1's of the world. -J. And a superman 1 that sold for 80k 2 years ago realistically is a 300k book today. Sorry, my opinion is we are in for a rude awakening sooner or later Slow and steady, that wins the race If this happens I will be the Warren Buffett (small scale version) of comics and buy buy buy some keys that are out of my reach.
  15. Up to $41k. I'd wager the seller's magic number is $45k. -J. I think the 2.0 is worth every bit of the $60K the seller is asking. Looks like a bargain to me.
  16. Isn't there some obscure western you've been looking for for years? I think I have it at home on a search, but can't find it here. Redskin # 8. Been looking for a copy since July 2001 ... http://www.comics.org/issue/234715/cover/4/ Seems you will continue the hunt for #8. Here are the Redskin issues he will auction. 1, 2, 5, 7 & 9
  17. This seems to be the place to post some group pictures of western comics. These are from an OO collection that eBay seller comics4less will be auctioning over the next 2 weeks starting this Sunday March 7th. Approximately 1100 comics so if you are looking to fill some holes this might be your opportunity.
  18. Recently bought about 4 long boxes of bronze and it had these double covers.
  19. No need for this to be on page 7. Anyway how about some graded pre-code and code eBay horror comic auctions from comics4less
