  1. Annnnnnd once again proof of why I shouldn't peruse this section on my phone and reply lol. 5.5 seems more likely with the sub crease.
  2. A press would not help. Your biggest flaw are those stains on the bottom back cover. With those you are looking at 4.0-4.5 max Id buy a better copy already graded personally.
  3. 6.0 here but 6.5 would not shock me. A Higher grade would be surprusing
  4. Drops post....never returns. ”Look ma I’m foruming all byes myself!”
  5. As someone who only has a dozen or so Golden Age books in the PC, am I even allowed to be here?!!?! And no none of them are "big boys" or girls for that matter...
  6. I have the Dallas one they are fun. Not valuable or extremely rare but something I happily pick up if I see for under a fiver.
  7. Yeah the back of this looks like someone ate a bag of chips and read this. Unfortunately. The front looks great. But for a couple bucks, I grabbed it anyway. I just wondered if there was any hope but does not appear to be in terms of cleaning.
  8. Does reading the thread whilst on the loo indicate how well I am going to do!?
  9. Bought a great copy of ASM 86 from Dan and it’s gonna be with me for a long time! Much thanks!
  10. The white I can see the persons fingerprints. There are also a ton of prints on the black part of the cover.
  11. So I have tried a couple things as per a few Youtube videos and internet searches, like a microfibre cloth and an eraser but nothing seems to be removing these...not sure what this person had on their hands but man I’d like to clean this cover up. Any suggestions? Also if the front cover is 9.6 range but the back looks like this, where does it fall? VF? Lower? I appreciate any insight! Newer books are not my forte.
  12. Ya faking an MJ insert would be noticeable I would think. Also ruining one book to make another book into an MJ insert copy would also be really tricky and noticeable and only a few books seem to command such a premium to make that worth it. As for the date stamp thing, I love them but don’t pay up for them. If anything, I might be more willing to buy a date stamp copy priced the same or better than a non date stamp copy in similar shape. That’s all.
  13. I’m also 4.0-4.5 as is with an outside shot at 5.0. She got issues but there some room for improvement
  14. Sounds like you made a typo on the mailing address and it got sent back to you....
  15. I am imagining I have these books...here is how I would very roughly value them Issues #2-100 (if lower grade on average and assuming 55 is there, first Thanos)- $1000 or so would be a reasonable realm Issues #100-200 (assuming Fine average)- $300-500 Issues 200-300 (assuming closer to VF range) $300-400 Total rough value= $1600-$1900 Obviously if conditions are lower, I can expect the lower end. The later stuff (150-300) are tougher sells unless VF or better. If I it priced within that range, I would think "okay I think this is being fair". I would EXPECT someone to offer lower (maybe $800-1200) and to move it all at once, maybe that is an offer that I would just take. Or perhaps I notice a few of the more valuable books (like IM #55) is VF or better, and take the time to grade that book whilst selling the rest. Some things to consider.
  16. The best points have been made but I will add a quick note... The best way that I have found determines whether a press will really help is holding a book in the correct lighting. This exposes it to indentations and such that you may not see otherwise. These indentations, many times, can be pressed out. Same thing with non colour breaking bends and bumps and such. Otherwise, if colour is broken and the book is flat, it is unlikely a press will do much at all to the grade. It was probably a 8.0 before press and after. However, one area I feel does improve a lot of books is cleaning, especially silver and bronze age issues from the late 60s and through the 70s. Notorious for having white back covers and for collecting any and all dirt, much of which can be cleaned away to visibly improve the book greatly and likely also help towards a grade bump. Edit: When I say cleaning, I mean a dry cleaning with no chemicals.
  17. ASM 50....still on the list for a couple years now. Would love a VG raw copy but some of the prices just are up there. I know I’ll need to bit the bullet it’s just a matter of when.
  18. Bumpity bump bump bumpity bump bump Look at the prizes go!
