  1. Oh why not one more tonight. Little mid grade X-Men lot. 122, 123, 124 and 150. $40USD shipped
  2. The rules: 1. First claim takes it 2. Offers welcome! 3. No hall of shamers 4. PayPal only for payment please 5. Returns accepted. Contact me within 10 days of receiving the books and we will work it out like civilized folk 6. As I am in Canada please note that it may be slightly slower than usual. Although I shipped and received comics recently from forum folk and it was less than three weeks in both cases. You will get a tracking number of course Alright, so this thread should have more in the coming days but let’s start with this for tonight. First up for sale is a copy of I Love You #60, with Elvis on the cover. The bottom staple is detached and there is some edge wear. Overall I will say it is in the 3.0 range with that detached staple. Maybe a tad lower or higher depending on your standards. I will also toss in the copy of My Teenage Confidential Confessions 7. Nice front but stain on the back cover puts it in the VG range. For both, $115USD shipped!
  3. 3.0-3.5 mainly because of the back. A press might make it look ok but I don’t see this hitting any higher as the flaws that put it in this grade range are not press able flaws.
  4. Facebook is brutal for buying. Groups are not worth the time as they always over price. If there is anyone out there making a killing on Facebook groups with inflated prices please tell me I’m wrong. The Marketplace can be hit or miss. I’ve had some good finds in the last year but there is also a lot of overpriced 90s “vintage” comics.
  5. It looks better than anything Batman related since the Nolan days. That being said, I too found it hard to see what was happening whether that was intentional or not. We had a dark Batman, and I get that is his thing...hopefully it all works. I will give it a shot as it intrigues me more than anything movie related from DC has in a long time.
  6. If it’s s manufacturing thing, I agree with the grade. How CGC can determine that from someone cutting it is beyond me.
  7. Agreed! To all you Yanks, us Hosers are fine paying for it! You can track stuff and if we get but with customs, that’s on the buyer. It doesn’t even take that long anymore, couple weeks, same as usual.
  8. He filled some holes in my Spidey run with some great raw books! A+
  9. If it is a key with a Canadian price, it can fetch more. Seems like this is an area of collecting that has gotten more interest in the last 5-7 years. I think part of the draw is that it is still priced in “dollars” and with Canada being close, they can be found easier, as many areas border the US. Granted, I am not one who cares enough to spend more on a Canadian price copy (and I’m even Canadian!) but seems like those people are out there.
  10. I had a book that I was going to press and grade. Was a terrible experience, partially my fault for not asking around firs and I put my trust in a truly sloppy amateur. At the end of the day, the press popped a staple on the book and the guy I trusted with it never sent it off to get graded in the six months he had he book (probably hoped I would forget it or something). Anyways the book came back with an amateur press (some colour loss from overheating) and the popped staple. I managed to get some money back and free books as apology from the guy and got rid of the book itself. It serves as a reminder to trust reputable folks and do my research. That one book aside, I still have never subbed a raw book nor have I had any in the PC pressed.
  11. I live in a city and area that has had less than 25 cases since this all began and I still have no desire to go out more than I already do. Groceries and the odd restaurant take out to support the local ones is good enough for me. Socially distanced visits with a few friends. Contact with my core group of family. All I need.
  12. I maybe went once a year. I’d much rather pay $10 and stay to watch on my TV and eat snacks that don’t cost triple the ticket price than sit in lice infested movie chairs while Joe and Jane Blow’s kids kick my seat.
  13. Suppose you grade a book with no significance, say a book that is a $3-5 book raw. Grading and shipping costs will put you in the hole around $40. You'd be lucky to sell such a book for $20, unless it was a 9.8 then MAYBE you would get your money back. If you are grading a key book with a first appearance, desired cover, story or art, then usually grading will bump the value. Depending on the book, the bump could be $20-50, or much more.
  14. Can you give us an example of the books? I sell in lots too, everything is Fine to VF but at $7, that is a lot unless you are getting some good Silver and Bronze stuff. If it is late 70s and early 80s filler, even if the condition is great, don't expect much more. At that price, I find it better to sell locally. You get a bit more (usually $4 or so for me anyways) and you avoid fees. Someone comes and picks them up and you get cash. Win!
  15. I think with a clean to the back you might get 7.5. As is, a very sound 6.5-7.0 in my eyes.
  16. Personally I think the Crow is worth keeping. I would def sell the Invincible if you aren’t attached and use some of the money to get the two you want.
  17. Here is my video for one of my themed walls. Just use picture shelves for my display. Cheap and reliable and easy to install. https://youtu.be/huPcnc18LCM
  18. Yeah and for a lot of people the GSX1 is way out of range. Heck a copy that looked like it took a mud bath and then got taped back together sold for almost $500 recently.
  19. These are cool. Personally though that issue means nothing to me. I’d look at what 9.8 (or better) sell for and assume I might get at least a couple and add the potential profit up. If it’s worth more than what someone would pay for the unopened box, then opening it is the answer.
