  1. Would be neat to see an Oct 31 one on a horror book....
  2. I think 5.0 might be light on this one...nothing major going on, its all minor. 6.0-6.5 again here for me.
  3. Spine ticks and corners of spine are worn. I am more 6.0-6.5
  4. 9.0 seems about right. Couple very small spine ticks and the back corner lower spine ding bring it there for me.
  5. See, I am a little harsher here. Lots of spine ticks, some small corner creases. I think 7.0-7.5 at the best.
  6. I think 4.5 would be best case. 4.0 for me seems about right. And I will also say I don't think grading would be worth it at all if selling is the goal.
  7. That big chunk hurts. I would have to say 2.5. I don't know if that bit of a piece missing would fly on a 3.0
  8. Good point! I view 31 as a one of the best stories too..actually from like 28 through to his last issue, Ditko/Stan were on fire I feel.
  9. You were expecting me to pour copious amounts of money into cleaning, pressing and grading this book just to maybe get a CGC 5.5? Wellllll maybbbeeee I willllll
  10. That’s where it is it was cheap and filled my MTU run from 1-30 so I’m fine with it. It’s not a series I am jumping to upgrade on at the moment.
  11. Also ASM annual 1 fits in this all somewhere. First Sinister Six, always desired and wanted.
  12. You think ASM 31 is a bigger key than 14, first Green Goblin? Can you share why I love both but if I had to choose I would omit 31 and keep 14 as a definite key because of the character appearance.
  13. Just going through the PC and rebagging and boarding and self grading some stuff. This one hasn’t been out in a looooonng time. Story real quick. Got this about 15 years ago while in high school. Local fair was in town and a guy had comics of all things as some prizes at his game booth. I forget what else was there...I think there was an ASM 252 and a couple others. Anyway this thing grabbed my eye because of the stickers (which I’ve kept) and it was signed! Cool. At the time my collecting was in its infancy so I knew very little other than I liked Spidey and this looked cool. I think I spent around $10 (was a dart balloon game) before winning and selecting it as my prize. Story over. I feel confident telling myself that the signature is legit. Wondering your thoughts on grade:) Thanks! Oh and final bonus, it has an MJ insert which I’m sure as a teen I knew nothing about.
  14. Thanks! Yes, I did de-odourize it so it smells good. I don't really intend on grading this one, just seeing if there is reference for what can and cannot be whitened up on these older silver and bronze age books with the white covers. I appreciate this info!
  15. Hi everyone, So I do not usually read anything modern but enough people talked about how good Locke & Key was so I dove in and am thoroughly enjoying it. I was just wondering if there is anything else that Joe Hill has done that is as entertaining or intriguing. I appreciate the recommendations!
  16. Yeah I am also more 8.5-9.0. Several spine ticks and some on back, plus back top left corner has a faint crease.
  17. This book is sharp. I would also not be surprised with 9.4-9.6. I assume that tiny red mark on the bottom of the back cover is just ink from the comic, perhaps a little distributors ink? As long as it is not a stain.
  18. I am in the 9.4-9.6 and did not see that many ticks. Tis hard with that white cover, in hand might be more telling.
  19. I am also around 9.2, outshot shot at 9.4 When listing, I always consider my grade and when I grade I like to give a slight range (like 9.2-9.4 in this case). Then, when I list, I bump it down just to be safe. So in the description, I will say I feel it is 9.0-9.2 and advise the buyer to be the judge based on the photos (always lots of photos).
  20. In terms of the stamp itself affecting the grade, it depends on where the books are grade wise. I mean, it might keep high grade book from being a 9.6 or 9.8 and instead only be a 9.0-9.2 if the stamp is the only flaw (which can be mean it affects it lot) If the books are in VF shape, the stamp wouldn't factor in much at all. Could lose half a grade, could stay the same. If they are Fine or lower, I would say there is no effect really of the stamp on overall grade. Now if who they belonged to at Marvel were to be proven (and it is someone noteworthy or that comic fans know), that could up the price. I am a sucker for neat stamps so if you do sell 'em, I'll take one with a stamp
  21. At least you have a GSX 1 to send to get graded. Do share the final product! (you too OP!)
