PGM Amazing Spider-Man 100
comicginger1789 replied to SpideyFan64's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
8.5-9.0 right now as is for me easily. Pressing and a clean could see this his 9.2-9.4...man is it sharp! -
PGM ASM #16 - GRADE IS IN!
comicginger1789 replied to Math Teacher's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Before scrolling, I felt that spine would clean up nicely...and I guessed 7.5. Next time I will try to get a grade in before so people believe me -
PGM Secret Wars 8- GRADE IS IN!
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I feel the same way. I really would be happy anything 9.0 or better, which I know it should get. 9.4 would be super and higher would be fantastic -
Couple things here... Did the book have fingerprints prior to sending? If yes, well not all fingerprints can be removed. The longer they are on a book, the more time the oils sink in and can become just part of the book OR are you saying the book was nice and that somewhere between the time the book left you and the time they graded it, someone handled it and left fingerprints? If this is the case, you will need to prove this. Simply saying "my book did not have this flaw when it left" might not be enough. And again, you can have 1000 years of collecting experience, it does not make you immune to missing flaws. I also have been collecting a long time and I have missed flaws. It is why I take video AND photos of books I send in. Inconvenient? Maybe if I were sending hundreds of books each year but I send less than 50 a year. My latest return had a book with a smudge on it and I said "woah, I never noticed that before". But before I jumped on here to blast CGC for ruining my book, I looked back at my video and sure enough, the tiny smudge was present. Memory....why must ye fail me! So much time had passed I forgot what the book looked like. Which is totally understandable consider I look at different comics every week and have ever since that one left my hands. Anyways just trying to clarify the point of your initial post is all.

When is tight too tight

Some faint indents (thinking a press would eliminate) and a printing crease on the back top left. Appreciate all thoughts!

Another one where 8.5-9.0 would not shock me at all. -
GRADE IS IN!!-Xmen #101
comicginger1789 replied to nebyort's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I can tell you without hesitation this should grade better than my 8.0 which was graded last year. Call me crazy I’m saying 8.5-9.0. Much cleaner back than my copy and much glossier looking cover -
Sharp copy. Flaws I can see include -light wear near staples -spine tick middle spine front cover -bottom right faint corner crease that barely breaks colour -4 foxing/oxidizaztion spots on back cover The last flaw I’m most concerned for as I know CGC can hammer foxing or staining like this

Post your Garage Sale/Flea Market/Antique Mall Finds Here
comicginger1789 replied to Shark's topic in Comics General
My friend just messaged me saying the local pawn shop has comics that came in. He supposedly bought Moon Knight 1-38, Death of Wolverine, X-23 1-8 and a little run of...ULTIMATE FALLOUT 1-5....INCLUDING UF4!! I have spent the last 30 minutes telling him I know he is joking. He has assured me he is not and is coming by to show me after work. I am on my way there to see what he left (he knows comics but not to the same extent as me and says there are lots more). Fingers crossed! Oh and for reference, the pawn shop sells comics for $1-2 each.........I don't know if that makes my friend a swindler or not but we shall see. It probably does. Pics will come! -
PGM X-Men Annual 14
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
The top left of the spine is not a tear. A crease. Was not there prior to sending in a video I took either. So not sure if press caused it or however it was stored at CGC for 8–10 months -
PGM X-Men Annual 14
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
I was spot on other submissions but this one seems super harsh. I mean it’s not a huge to do….I just feel it was super harsh. And I don’t see any of the other mentioned creasing…. -
PGM X-Men Annual 14
comicginger1789 replied to comicginger1789's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
All of these guesses are where I felt, 9.0-9.4 Well here it is. Notes mention light bends, light creasing and light spine stress. These are the only flaws I see… -
Try here first. See how it goes, maybe build up some credibility. If it’s slow going, maybe try Instagram or Facebook. Although on those platforms I find common keys are always expected to be heavily discounted. And filler books are hard to sell. Rarities and golden age do well on those platforms but also do well here too. Ebay I personally would use last. Most exposure but I don’t like the hassle and fees. Again all of this just my 2 cents! Welcome and good luck with the sales!

Spiderman 3 or Spiderman 50 ?
comicginger1789 replied to Colin Nash's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
3 And I love 50 but I feel it is much easier to get and probably won’t climb out of reach as fast as issue 3 will over time -
Got this back from CGC Here are a few before pics. Curious what you all think then I will share the result. Notice the deep spine tick on back middle of spine
