  1. 4.5 I will be harsh on foxing as I know CGC can be too...and there is a LOT here.
  2. This round was my best (aside from Howard the Duck, as I called it 9.0) I have only had 3 bullseyes, 5 under graded books and 7 overgraded books. This concerns me as I usually go the other way.....I need to focus more and go back to my old ways. 9.2 on that Batman Annual the one round? 8.5 on the Secret Wars foreign copy? What was I on? Looking back at both, I cannot believe that is what I typed but I did...
  3. 8.0 from me. Pages edges seemed browned though... might not get the best page quality on it
  4. Maybe I am blind but it is VERY hard to tell what the difference here is between the two condition wise. So when asking why they both received the same grade, I would assume the answer is because they were both the same grade.....
  5. I say anytime you can get an early 60's Marvel book in complete and readable shape for under $50, you are probably doing alright.....
  6. A large amount of 9.6's could be a 9.8's Some 9.4's could be 9.8's A handful of 9.8's are 9.6's A smaller handful of 9.8's are 9.4's This is all I know
  7. Fair enough. I just mean generally I buy comics for a certain grade. Specifically, I don't want a VF advertised book with a flaw like a popped centrefold so I usually ask when pictures and description don't seem enough. I've had one purchase in a plethora during my life that has yielded said flaw that the seller said was not there but was upon arrival. It was a $50 book or so, and I said I would do whatever he wanted....return or take a discount. He said sure to the discount and refunded half, which I felt was fair for the book in that grade with the popped staple at the centrefold.
  8. I'd be upset here at the 0.5 result...but more at myself. Depending on what I spent might determine my recourse. If it was a couple hundred, meh, I will learn from my error. If it was thousands, I might be inclined to try to contact the seller. Mention it and see if there is any recourse. Maybe the guy answers, maybe not. Maybe he offers something, maybe not. Maybe he tells me to pound sand. Regardless, I still would feel responsible. I always check my books from front to back when I buy. I flip through, checking pages and centrefold (a loose or detached centrefold is my nemesis and I always ask but have had several buys where they even said "yup its all good" only to receive and it is completely detached....these get returned). So again, I would feel responsible Also, if it all left a bad taste in my mouth, I would just avoid that seller again.
  9. What's wrong with partial refund? I have asked for this before. A comic was advertised as VF and appeared as such so I was happy to pay $55 for it. It arrived with damage that knocked it down to a Fine range book. Book is still good just not the VF I paid for. So if seller wants me to return, I will. If seller offers at discounted rate (ie partial refund), that also makes sense because then I paid for a Fine book which makes sense.
  10. Another thread revealing some moronic people on here...good to know (and if you can't tell who I am talking about, don't worry....it's probably not you).
  11. Mine too! Although I did pick up a very high grade copy of Marvel Premiere 10 for $20 and sent to CGC where it still sits. However I bought because it has 9.4-9.6 potential which I thought was great for a book like that.
  12. All I know is I’ve added more people to my block and do not buy from list. It’s always so helpful when these people out themselves.
  13. 4.5 from me! Amazing book even if it does look a bit drunk
  14. I appreciate the original poster's efforts to fix a damaged book...please note though that it is a 2.0 grade at best no matter what you do to it at this point because of the apparent mold spot and staining. You can press and CPR that thing for hours and it won't change much else other than have it be slightly more presentable. And please, for your own sake (unless you are doing so because you love it), don't waste money grading it.
  15. I don't know if posting here is going to get you anywhere...I would keep contacting his representatives.
  16. I wouldn't consider myself a diehard Hot Wheels collector but I have a few with ties to superheroes....I generally gravitate towards ones that are made of as much metal as possible so if I do pick one up at a flea market or wherever, that is what I look for. A desirable make and model and a metal bottom. The older the better. My dad used to play Hotwheels with us as kids and I have carried that tradition on to my son and daughter. My son ended up getting all my cars which were in great shape haha. I don't think any had value but I was never that big into knowing what if any in the last 30 years were considered valuable....
  17. For me, it will be always be the second best Spider-Man, after Spider-Man 2. I rewatched a couple years ago and it still held up. Some of the effects are a tad dated but overall, very well adapted and told. It alongside Spider-Man 2 makes as formidable 1-2 punch as any in the MCU today. You could nitpick Tobey and other aspects but something about seeing Spidey in all his glory for the first time on the big screen the way he was meant to be can never be beaten. I would LOVE for a return to this universe for a tale to wrap up Tobey's Spidey story in some way.
  18. I overgraded…somehow and for some reason. I tried to overcompensate for usually being under and was over whole grades on several. Was closest on the Hulk and that was it. Resetting and regrouping
  19. Card grading and comic grading are vastly different…..thankfully.
  20. Good question. It’s the lighting. But def pressing it to hopefully remove those
  21. Think it is a 5.5 max. Maybe 6.0 if cleaned but that would be tops. Creases get hammered.
  22. I will have to get back on track and watch the rest after episode 1. I shall assume that the confusion centers around the identity changing between Marc/Steven and potentially others, thus making it hard to know what is real, what is not and so forth. This is where I was worried how they would handle that aspect of the character...going for a wild and nonsensical show because they could just cover up anything with "ah it wasn't real, it was all in his head because he suffers from a multiple personality disorder".
