Cerebus High Society limited hardcover now on sale
SuperBird replied to SuperBird's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
It's probably the best place to start. The first dozen issues of cerebus are a little rough around the edges, and you can skip 1-25 them without losing understanding of the story. (High Society is 26-50). There is literally no way to understand 51-200 without reading High Society. -

Welcome back! As mentioned above, with any tics on the spine, it's not a 9.8. A 9.2 might be best case, in my experience. Still worth slabbing it. 1) the value you put only matters for insurance when CGC mails it back to you. I would use 299 in this case, to get the lowest cost slabbing fee. 2) I've shipped about a 1000 books, never insured anything, never had any problems. Obviously YMMV. 3) signatures generally increase value

Silver age comics that are heating up
SuperBird replied to rabidwolf's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Comics can be a fine investment, but a better comparison would be "comics" vs. just a basic ETF such as QQQ or SPY, which would have more security, liquidity, and tax advantages. (Or "X-men 1" vs. "TSLA", if you want to stockpick ) I hope nobody is counting on bank interest to keep up with inflation... -

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
SuperBird replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I assume you mean number 1; I meant the whole series, of which there are a dozen sales. Not many, I know, but when I used to check there were plenty of 1 and 2s about. Now there are 3 total non-SS. -
