Hello,  Thank you for the requests.  We will add the Freddie Freeman set to our list to create.  We have an existing Ozzie Albies set.  If you need slots added to the existing set, please add your request to the dedicated SLOT REQUEST topic on the Chat Boards.

I must have just missed the Albies or it was made available after I looked to create a set. Either way I'm good for that and looking forward to the Freeman set.

I would also like to request a baseball player set for Luis Robert.

thats a long time for bulk espically when the turn around time in march was what 60 day or so , but almost 5 months to get them back is crazy based on turn around times when you subbed , but what i learned about gsc they dont care what the turn around time is when you sub your card they will go off whatever the current time is and honestly thats wrong . Hopefully you got some bangers out of your sub for that wait time

That's why it's only an estimate and they don't guarantee turnaround times. It's not wrong, it's the only way they're able to operate. It's not their fault if they received an additional 50,000 cards between when you checked the website and sent your cards in. They aren't psychic.

That is incorrect.  "Turnaround times reflect the estimated number of working days to complete a submission delivered to our facility today."

That is what they write, but that's not how it actually works. They say the same thing with their comic book grading but in reality the clock really starts once they're marked as received.

  6. I'm 99% sure those are the "thicker" cases that everyone has been waiting for (and yes, I know they aren't actually thicker). It allows them to slab any width card without worrying about the cards fitting within the 4 plastic pieces to hold the card in place.

  7. The turnaround times start once the submission has been give the status of "received," which means it does not begin the day it's delivered by the shipping carrier. There is no way for them to track an individual submission until it has been received, so trying to calculate it from the delivery date is just wishful thinking. So technically in their system the submissions haven't "arrived" until they are logged in.

That's the way their comic book submissions have always worked as well.

They've been in the grading business of different collectibles through the years, I'm sure they have a think tank in place to try to tackle this unprecedented time in sports cards.

They've had this problem with comics for years now - packages arrive and just sit there for weeks or longer with no communication with the customer. It's infuriating.

How do you feel about the the overall value of these boxes?  I stopped buying his stuff about a year ago because the sets just started to get pricey.  $20 for cover A's and $60+ for cover C's became a bit much.  But I did think maybe I could buy a box every two years in the hope that they'd be full of more recent stuff that I may have passed on.  My biggest issue are the signed books.  I much prefer my signed books CGC graded in a yellow label, so having raw books like that would probably kick in my OCD.

Your haul looks pretty good though.  All Marvel/DC (another worry of mine is getting indy publishers which I don't collect much of).

As long as you don't mind getting dupes the mystery boxes I think are a good value. There's very few books you could get that would sell for less than what they individually cost in the box. $100 w/ tax & shipping to get 6 books ends up at $16.67/book, and almost all of them you can get at least $20 for if you don't want to keep them. Signed ones even more. From that set I'll probably sell the following books (with their last raw sale on eBay):

    • Uncanny X-Men 12 Rogue Cover - $25
    • Wonder Woman 750 - $19
    • New Mutants Dead Souls Signed - $40
    • Harley Quinn Villain of the Year - $15

That's $99 which basically covers the cost of the whole box, so the ones that I would be keeping are essentially free. I also don't mind getting signed books mostly because I'm fine with sending those to Voldy. I've sold a few at a pretty nice profit and got others that I kept for myself.

I think the only non-Marvel/DC book you could get would be a Danger Girl, but they're probably pretty rare in these boxes.

  10. Do you mean that started in 2020? Because technically SiKtC started in 2019, but I would agree it's worth reading (it's definitely my favorite series right now).

Here are my favorite series that started this year:

    • Department of Truth
    • It Eats What Feeds It
    • Seven Secrets
    • Spy Island
    • Star Wars: Darth Vader
    • Stealth
    • Stillwater
    • Strange Academy
    • That Texas Blood
    • We Only Find Them When They're Dead
    • Wynd

And we're only one issue in, but We Live from Aftershock had a great start.
