  1. There have been some amazing golden age books posted today!
  2. I joined this club a few months back. It's not the greatest copy. The tape really hurt the grade. But I love it because that iconic cover still looks presents well for a 1.0.
  3. Over the last year I've made all my major purchases here on the cgc boards. I like talking to and establishing relationships with the sellers. I've bought a few "fillers" on eBay and I have 2 comic shops I frequent with my son. We buy a few comics every week at the shop near my house.
  4. My 2 cents... Please don't break up that book. I don't know if anyone would buy the wraps or not, but it's a nice looking copy. Some kid probably took out page 12 40+ years ago. It's apart of the comics history now. I would either keep it and look for a cheap incomplete copy to get page 12 or sell it, save up and buy the copy you want.
  5. That's why I always loved this comic book. First, you have the DD yellow suit that's awesome! And then you have this really sophisticated villain that has always been under appreciated in my mind. It's a great comic to have. Happy to pass it along to another collector.
  6. Closed for now! Thanks to those who made purchases!
  7. I read this. What a shame he's still out there scamming people.
  8. No no, I actually keep a bear with me when I list comics. See, now I'm in an awkward spot. If I fix it, people won't understand your reference and the humor will be lost. If I keep it I will be exposed for my mediocre grasp of the English language.
  9. One bump for the spidey lot. I'm going to close this thread tomorrow morning. Thanks for the purchases so far!
  10. Does it happen to have a back cover? I'm just curious for no particular reason...
  11. It's a pretty front cover, but it too is married. I bought it that way. Complete book, married front cover, no back cover.
  12. That's kind of what I thought lol. I guess the good news is, I can sell remaining parts and someone else can advance their journey.
  13. I would send it to CCS. Let them handle it, but I would think with those notes a press would be helpful.
  14. +1 If your goal is to get a complete book, sell this, save some cash and buy the book you want. If your goal is to have a pretty looking ASM14 that you otherwise couldn't afford, I would keep it and if you stumble across a missing page decide if it's worth it to you.
  15. So I gotta ask... I'm working on finding a back cover to Tec 26. The good news is, the 4 titles DC released in April 1939 have the same back cover. But let's say I find an incomplete More Fun 42, do I actually remove the back cover? Or do you guys wait to find "just a back cover". The idea of taking apart an 81 year old comic book feels sacrilegious. I really hope to find just a back cover or a split cover.
  16. If your in no rush to sell it, I would try to find the parts. At the very least it will mean more to you.
  17. So, I'm playing the piece it together game right now for the first time with a Detective 26. I need a back cover (witch reminds me, I should bump my WTB post). Piecing together a classic book is this whole new angle to collecting for me, but I kind of love the hunt! I imagine if I ever complete the book it will be really exciting.
