  1. I'll sell them when I no longer enjoy collecting. The hunt and piecing together unique runs. My oldest son is 7 and he's really into comics. My youngest son is 2 and he's really into destroying. If I hang onto the collection and they are still interested I would leave it to them... except a few special ones I know would mean allot to my brother (although I plan to out live him to!)
  2. Does the guy know about the detached staple?
  3. See, that's the same grade I gave it! I bought these about 10 years ago and never thought about having them graded until recently. They are probably worth getting protected at this point!
  4. I appreciate all the feedback! Thanks everyone
  5. Top left corner over the 12C ? It does look suspicious. But i would have faith in CGC to catch something like that.
  6. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=50462594 This one?
  7. That's a beautiful book! Nothing beats LB Cole PCH!
  8. Thanks, would a press / dry cleaning improve the grade?
  9. Hello, Really great color. Some non- color breaking creases i tried to show. Any opinions on if pressing / dry cleaning would be beneficial vs detrimental? Thanks
  10. Hello, I've had a couple of WWII cover ACs for a years and I'm considering sending them off to be graded. The covers have creases, but wonderful color. There is a big crease on the back cover. It isn't ripped, but it looks like a rip in the photo. Any opinions on if pressing / dry cleaning would be beneficial vs detrimental? Thanks
  11. One of the coolest covers in comics! GL with the sale!
  12. Sorry guys, I got over excited! Didn't pay attention to the details. I'm a very optimistic grader I suppose. You couldn't imagine my shock when my NM copy of hulk 181 came back from CGC as a 6.5! Don't even get me started about my NM tales to astonish 24!!
  13. He's better at this than me. Go with his answer I was thinking you might be able to get the stains and creases out to drive up the grade, but the cost of doing that probably isn't warranted.
  14. I'll throw out to the experts, but could dry cleaning get that stain off? I imagine with a press and dry clean through cgc it could be NM.
  15. I'm sorry the return didn't go smoothly. I honestly wouldn't have picked up on the color touch or trimming so I'm thankful to have learned something
  16. I had a collection of 6 large boxes and a handful of short boxes. Lots of full runs of 80s and 90s marvel and a few boxes of keys. In 2012 my wife and I had our first son and owned a very small house in the greater Boston area. I ended up selling everything except the keys and thought my collecting days were over. Shortly after I started having withdrawls. There were a few runs I missed, but I mostly missed collecting. But my tastes had changed. I got really into GA WWII, then transitioned into PCH, mystery / SyFy... anything LB Cole. Then the coolest thing happened. My 5 year old (now 7 year old) son fell in love with comics. He of course loves the superheroes so now I'm collecting primarily silver age heros. So to answer your question, the right size collection has changed for me allot as my priorities in life have changed. At 22 my goal was to have every comic silver surfer or punisher ever appeared in. At 30 I had less than 40 comics and at 37 my son and I collect with wreckless abandon, no real plan and rotate through 2 small boxes and probably 30 to 40 slabbed books.
  17. Ironically enough, I also made this my profile picture recently.
  18. I'll preface this by saying I'm much less experienced than many of the folks who have already weighed in. And I tend to over grade only to experience consistent disappointment when my books come back.. Call it perpetual optimism. That said, I think it's a 2.0. It presents really well and the obvious major detractors are the spine and the missing piece. I'm looking to buy a 2.0 locally and yours presents much nicer. It's a highly desirable copy because it will be "affordable", complete and looks great.
