  1. Has any other comic series had more reprints than Joe? On top of the gobs of traditional 2nd prints there was the Tales of GI Joe series, the three packs, those weird little digest copies, even more recent reprints included in those action figure comic packs, It has to be a record.
  2. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet but there are waaaaaay more GI Joe 2nd prints than that. They stretched into the thirties at least.
  3. If not having a lot of posts is reason to denigrate members you’re discouraging new people (like me) from joining these boards. If you want this hobby to grow we should all make this a friendly welcoming place.
  4. Does the amount of money the movie makes directly affect the value of the comic? This next phase of the movies looks weird to me, a bunch of cosmic stuff and then kung fu?
  5. Shouldn’t the cgc label say that it’s a 2nd print? I don’t see it, unless I’m missing it somehow, how could they have missed that?
  6. Isn’t this #2 a 2nd print?! I don’t see it on the label https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254347689279 I’ve been looking to upgrade my 2 but ebay is mostly 2nd prints and almost nobody lists it that way. Am I wrong in thinking that the 75cent in the square box is a reprint?
  7. Is there a list of major copper keys? That’s the time I grew up collecting and I can’t think of many...TMNT, maybe Venom and Deadpool?
  8. So cool, I think it’s neat the cover color matches the label color 😀
  9. I didn’t realize it was his anniversary, time to get him into the mcu! https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/27/arts/sub-mariner-marvel-namor.html
  10. So weird, It almost looks like some of it got ripped off with tape. It feels completely smooth? Is it glossy there? What an interesting find.
  11. How do you determine what the value is? Estimate what the grade is and use the fmv from comics go collect? If cgc determines it to have a bigger value than you declare do they charge more?
  12. If Disney acquired Sony Films why is this happening? Does this affect x-men also? I honestly don’t understand their relationship. https://deadline.com/2019/08/kevin-feige-spider-man-franchise-exit-disney-sony-dispute-avengers-endgame-captain-america-winter-soldier-tom-rothman-bob-iger-1202672545/amp/
  13. I honestly believe that if Marvel and DC would produce inexpensive books (print them on less fancy paper) and put them on spinning racks in grocery / drug stores kids will buy them. When I was a kid in the early 80’s I would ask my mom for one every time we went into Eckerds. A big problem, I think, is that the average 10 year old kid isn’t exposed to any comics. They have to go out of their way to buy one at a comic shop. I wouldn’t have done that, or even known what a comic shop is if I hadn’t been introduced to them at the drugstore. Of course the characters/ IP will be fine, there’s no question about that. Everybody knows who spider-man is. Disney, you own Marvel, put some effort into improving the comics side of the business. It will only help the movies/toys and other products.
  14. I was hoping for raw copies thinking they would be more affordable. The few high grade cgc copies on ebay are in the $80 range which is too much for me ☹️
  15. I’m having a hard time finding high grade common issues. For example I want a really nice 34 and 35 since those were the first issues I bought as a kid. Do any of you remember the tv commercial for 35? That’s the first time I ever saw a commercial for a comic. You would think that there would be a lot of high grades available since it was such a popular and collected title back in its day.
  16. Speaking of McFarlane, did he start the whole putting his name in a parchment banner thingy on covers? It seems like everyone started doing it in the early 90’s but he was the first I remember noticing. Also, what’s hot on ebay? 😊
  17. well the Captain Marvel and Nick Fury I have are probably 3 or less 😄
  18. Nice looking book! I’m in the same boat with Silver Surfer, been trying to find one for a while, they’re already out of my reach for anything but the lowest grade. I gave up and spent my silver surfer money on an x-men 94. I was able to pick up a lower grade Nick Fury 1 and Captain Marvel 1 for about $20 each, so at least not all of the 68’s are expensive 🙂
  19. I ordered comics from the sears catalog in the mid 80’s, probably around 1986-1988. Are they different in any way from the normal releases?
  20. Oh wow, I didn’t know about that one, I may have to pick that up 🙂
  21. What is Special 1? Special Missions? I actually really liked that series. I guess that’s good news if you want to buy them, although I am sad that gi joe doesn’t get more love from comic fans.
  22. Thank you guys! I guess I didn’t get too bad a price on it 🙂
