Hi, yesterday I traded a lot of records for a box of comics. They were mostly uninteresting but there were a few standouts, like this Eternals 1. It’s not in great shape, they weren’t even stored in bags. Does this look good enough to bother grading? Thank you for your time 🙂

My number 1 has a different paper quality (thicker, glossier) than the rest of the issues (which had the standard 80’s newsprinty kind of paper). Did all the number ones come that way?

Wow, thanks everyone, this is fantastic info! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and that link, that’s a cool resource I didn’t know about. I actually had no idea the original Hulk only ran for a few issues. That (along with Dr Strange and Captain America) is some confusing numbering 🤨 🙂

Sorry to ask a silly question, but is there a list of the new series marvel started in 1968? I know there’s Iron Man, Silver Surfer, Submariner, and Nick Fury. Are there others? Believe it or not I googled and couldn’t find a list of them. 🤔 As a side question, Iron Man and Silver Surfer are pricey but the others are more affordable. Were there a lot of them printed? Are there any other silver age marvels left that can be found on a budget?

Hi, I posted these pics a few days ago in a pre-existing submariner thread but got no response so I’m trying one more time, I hope that’s ok. I’m returning to comics having been away since the 90’s. I just bought a submariner 1 last week at one of those antique malls (it was $99, an impulse buy, I hope I didn’t pay too much). I was thinking about getting it graded at cgc, I’ve never done that before. Do you think this is a good candidate for grading or should I save my grading budget for other books? One flaw that might be hard to see in the pics is a small chip missing from the back cover near the “complete fishing outfits” panel. Thank you for taking the time to read this 😀 -Brooks
