Since @kevhtx hasn't read it, I'll weigh in... I read the first trade of Wynd, and it was fun. The art has an intentionally "simple" feel, though with impressive moments, and the writing has a distinct YA tone. I quite enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I enjoyed it enough to pick up subsequent trades. I'm a fan of more complex storylines, and "slow burn" build ups... That's not really the space that Wynd is in. Maybe an analogy is that I like The Lord of the Rings, and this is The Hobbit. Your mileage may vary...

I actually liked wynd better as it got to the later issues when the vampires came. It would make a good animated show

It's got to be the super walmarts only, so not every Walmart in the USA.....

I havent seen them, but I dont have a super walmart close or whatever they're called :shy:

Edit maybe @Namtak you can use Google to see if super Walmart is international

And not all of the super walmarts have them. I’ve got 5 near me and only two carry them. 🤷‍♂️

There's a new wave of Marvel multipacks that came out last week. 7 for $10 packs. Includes two 3 packs and one loose comic between them. Seems to be older 3 packs from what I can tell.

Front of the packs have Aliens 1, Ultraman 1, and Xmen; among others.

Bought a couple aliens and one ultraman pack, nothing of any significance in them. YMMV

That’s a pretty good price, I’ll be on the lookout 🙂

I just learned about "VariantGate" (as Bleeding Cool refers to it) and had to force myself not to drive to the closest Walmart in the hopes of finding some of the high-ratio variants.

I find retail exclusives like this fascinating but frustrating because there's almost never any detailed info available, just speculation and rumors.

You likely wouldn’t have found any, once word of them broke out weeks ago they all sold out quickly 😕

Well you could be right I am away from home currently. I thought it was ASM 546?
I sold it for I think $150 back then and you don't see them for sale very much. It was
only a Fine copy. Its been many years ago and I have only seen one copy in person.
All look tonight when I get home.

AND BTW we both knew which one of us sold an ASM book cheap and didn't realize
    it was a newsstand. :baiting:

    Is this a newsstand?

Let's not forget this goes against one of their principals in getting comics in the hands of readers since they were not distributed equally to every store and stores ordered one copy per person when in fact they need two.

    That’s a really good point ¬¬

The title is too important not to have its own place to showcase every glorious issue.
I’m a low grade collector generally speaking, so the bar is starting pretty low! 893D5AEB-3172-4356-9030-90AD7201CDE7.thumb.jpeg.7875bc0a5ff1ec0b07df3a51698e80e0.jpeg

With prices rising I’m starting to really appreciate low grade copies nowadays.

I liked 2 - I felt like it did a good job of moving the story, and I like the different styles of telling the story within the book. But I agree, 1 really was well done.

I loved the concept but I can’t keep track of all the characters in my head.

I’m looking forward to them venturing into the outer world, Tynion is my current favorite.

That’s definitely my mental stopping point. As far as my collection is concerned, UXM ended with 281, and I’m fine with that. That’s when I dropped my subscription, and when I generally lost interest in the line. I popped in here and there for different runs, some of the Joe Mad stuff, AOA, but my personal connection ended at 281. And honestly, my teenage emotional investment really ended around the time Jim Lee showed up. I liked his art, but the storylines had gotten so convoluted and dull. Inferno was the last crossover I really cared about. There’s still some nostalgic feeling for the Lee stuff, but I honestly don’t remember much about the stories, if anything, by that point.

How funny, that’s exactly when I dropped off too. I thought Lee’s panel layouts were hard to follow.  I loved the marauders, reavers, sinister, genosha, jubilee hating on psylocke, all that 80’s stuff 🙂
