First time I remember hearing about someone getting a high dollar book stolen at a show was Dragon Con 1995.
Wow, I think I was there that year but I’ve never heard of that, what book was it? Did they recover it?

Yeah it’s been really quiet on the boards lately, have all the speculators washed out after the fall in prices?

Star Wars 1 came out before the movie was released so instead of first appearance “in comics” shouldn’t it be first appearance?
And why are we talking about sub-mariner? I’m confused 😐

I went to a Toy convention and Hasbro were giving away GI Joe Number 1 while promoting the GI Joe line.
This was a good year before it appeared on the newsstand....circa Summer 1981.
I was a kid and this was held at the old NY Coliseum at Columbus Circle that is now the Time Warner Center.
Ill find it and post a pic and see if there are any differences in the printing.
A year before?? Wow, I’ve never heard of that. Is it on baxter paper?

Haha, true, but the pack with Transformers 4-6 in it might've been for sale right alongside the 1-3 pack, or at least at the same store shortly thereafter. They did at least 5 different 3-packs going up to issue #15 on the Transformers series, possibly more.
He may have been talking about the wolverine mini series? I didn’t even know those were released in a multipack.

50-60% less than earlier this year and sinking. BIN's sit on eBay at $375 with no takers. My guess and regular auction it settles in $250 range.
I don’t need high grade, I’ll look at raws. I’m only about 15 issues from completing the run. I do wish netflix would go ahead and announce a 2nd season.

Looking through the census and Ebay it seems CGC is not very consistent with what they label as second and third prints.
I’ve seen quite a few 80’s GI Joe reprints graded by cgc as first prints, something a Joe collector would notice immediately

I'm pretty sure I've secured the lowest graded direct & CPV copies....
A lot of my Joe books look like that 😄. I restapled a lot of my books as a kid after the covers came loose, I wonder if cgc would catch that restoration 😂

Another is House of Slaughter #1
I have well over 40 9.8 slabs, mostly variants.
It was my 1st go-round at pressing and sending to CGC = man, it hurts to see these recent sale prices.
Maybe when SIKTC gets beyond the "optioned" phase things will heat up for HoS. Can't wait to sell these,Midtown had number 1’s signed by Tynion for cover price for a long time, I ordered a couple. I thought the story was decent, I don’t know why it’s not catching on?

How can a company sell for mountains of money and immediately get so much worse? 😕

Prices on slabbed Marvel Facsimile books like AF 15, X-Men 1, FF 1, IH 1, IH 181, etc. are jumping across the board right now. I was beginning to worry that I may have wasted my time straight subbing a handful of each last year, especially the 9.6s
That’s odd, I wonder why they’re getting hot?
