My number 1 was also signed by Gaiman and McKean, at separate times back in the 90’s. Note that cgc won’t verify those signatures, I had to send my copy to another place, got a 9.6. So close... 🙂 I’m thinking cgc may offer that service in the future.

I missed out on the facsimile editions of Avengers 1 and 4. I don't have the originals so, it would be nice for them to be stand in copies. I have bought around 4 or 5 of them. Some were 1 dollar, it's a bargain for just reading. I heard that someone had a facsimile of TOD # 10 slabbed.
there’s lots of slabbed facsimiles on ebay. Where did you find them for $1? That’s awesome 😎

a shelf of small sections of barbed wire.
Warning sign of a potential chainsaw murderer, up there with furniture made of bones 😄
Is there a online resource that lists all of the facsimile editions?

Once Bad Idea is no longer Bad Idea are they still going to be reprinting Bad Idea branded books? Eniac 1 is the only reprint I’ve seen so far.

I really like the facsimile editions and have started looking for some I missed, I was surprised to see on ebay and mcs that some are expensive. Are these becoming collectible/valueable?
Is there a checklist somewhere of all the issues?

What is Ollies?
A newer distribution group for mixed back stock?
Patrick
It’s an outlet/closeout kind of store, kind of like big lots. They’re pretty good for books and they’ve got a lot of trade paperbacks for cheap.

I found a copy of 6 in one of those $5 multipacks at Ollie’s last week. It’s the only time I’ve seen a book I like in one of those packs.

Sweet podcast. which one are you?
Thanks, I’m the one with the white sheet background 🙄, I still don’t have good lighting or background 😄

Insane... do you have a photo of that? I also thought the movie came out first. Star Wars 1 seems like a great value due to all the 1st appearances. which seems to matter a ton in our speculating community now ... similar to X-men 1
Skip to about 8 min in, these are the letters from issue 4 (the first issue with letters in it)

Also, I think someone mentioned it before, but the 1977 Star Wars 1 comic came before the actual movie and saved Marvel?
It did predate the movie. In fact in our youtube show my friend and I have done episodes where we read the letters columns, it’s fascinating to hear people speak about how they hope the movie will be as good as the comic.

By saying their company is "closing" and then putting the "Final 5 issues!" or whatever it is.
Is this really that hard to understand?
I agree, if you weren’t “in on the joke” it would totally seem like they’re shutting down for good.

Well, if you click onto the real-time link in my post up above, you can see that it still has 3 more hours to go until it hits the 3 minute buzzer for their additional extended bidding sessions where the action usually heats up for the real hot books.
The link just takes me to the main page, maybe I need an account 🤔
I’m glad they’re still doing well, it kind of felt like they were cooling down for a bit

Well, the next one is bound to be more than the CL $42K copy as this one here on CC that ends in a few hours from now is already at $54K:

I guess we will just have to wait and see what kind of action takes place once the 3-minute buzzer sounds off.
What did it end up selling for?

Then don't read the books and continue believing that this company is out to pull a fast one on you.
I think he’s saying that they make the books so hard to get if your shop doesn’t carry them that it feels like getting lots of people to read them is not their top priority.

Very cool that the #9 had the tattooz insert. Just noticed other books that month had them too other than ASM and FF.
I didn’t know that either, now I need to check mine 🙂

But yes, I have no trouble imagining 12 cent marvel books for a dollar still. Probably not as nicely presenting as that Superman 211, though.
There is literally no marvel or dc silver age book I wouldn’t buy for a dollar 😄, even in terrible shape they’re awesome to me

Eniac, how do we feel about this methodology?

I guess once the series is finished it’s over, no reprints, no trade paperbacks, no digital. I wonder if the creators care that it will disappear like that. Is bad idea looking to get their properties optioned at all?
