  1. I sent my grades yesterday @CGC Mike and you even responded with an appropriately cryptic emoji indicating I either did really great or I embarrassed not only myself but several generations of ancestors. Please double check!
  2. I got 3 bullseyes last round for my best ever score but these books were really tough so I await interpreting the tea leaves of Mike's emojis to suss out if I'm justified in this feeling of impending doom...
  3. Nova was the first non “classic 60s core” hero I became a huge fan of. He reminded me of Spidey except with way more power a bit less of a diva. I had a bunch of issues from LCS growing up and the full run was literally the first thing I bought on internet when rec.arts.comics.market was where you sent strangers money hoping you didn’t get ripped off (I went 4 for 6). I always thought they gave up on the character too quick as he had potential to be Marvel’s GL.
  4. Got mine in early this time. Would’ve got them in even earlier but I had to look up “silverfish.” Is that some kind of regional bug ya’all down south are infested with or something? I’ve never heard of such an insect and thought someone was making comic eating creatures up.
  5. He's going to be at Galaxycon Columbus in December where I look forward to getting his album signed! I think they accept mail-ins too for some fee if you can't make it to beautiful Columbus, Ohio.
  6. One 🎯 and just .5 off all the rest except the first one. Guttersnipe I definitely spent the most time on. I started at 4.5 and kept bumping it up but not high enough. What tripped me up was I was sure the spine was partially split but I guess my eyes betrayed me.
  7. Thanks for the reminder. Apologies for the delay but got distracted this weekend watching my fantasy team go down in flames. Speaking of going down in flames.....GRADES IN!
  8. I believe with cracked slabs they always regrade in case the crack affected the book in some way. So yeah sorry you may get a way lower grade.
  9. Anybody involved in the comic or trading card “hobbies” has heard plenty of stories of market manipulation whether it be big dealers colluding to drive up the price of an auction or companies with a stash of a certain item having “friends’ that ensure they”re taken care of on the grading side or what have you. When you deal with any large successful company dealing in collectibles, you best assume it’s like walking into a casino in Vegas. Your may win some, you may lose some but you’re naive if you don’t think they don’t have thumbs on the scale to ensure they always come out ahead.
  10. I don’t see how releasing a colored version is “profiting off it twice.” I suppose there’s a handful of rabid WWBN fans who might resubscribe to D+ to see the color version but that number is barely negligible. Snyder’s JLA was a billion times more popular and turned out that releasing his cut barely moved the needle on Max subscriptions. The reason they’re redoing it is likely twofold. First, there are some goofballs who absolutely refuse to watch anything black and white. It could be the greatest masterpiece of all time, they see b&w they skip it. Probably use TikTok too. The other reason is Disney is so broke they can’t do a Halloween special this year so they’re reusing last years. FWIW, this and the GOTG Christmas were the only two great Marvel originals D+ ever made. Everything else is either forgettable to utterly unwatchable. I’m glad they put WWBN on Hulu since I cancelled my D sub and it’s really the only one I ever had a desire to rewatch bc it was freakin awesome.
  11. $35 to ship 140 comics is dirt cheap LOL There are goofballs on sellers forums and IG that charge $10 for ship just 2-3 measly little comics here in the US.
  12. Grading is subjective. I’ve gotten “good” books on eBay that graded out to 9.5s and I’ve seen people advertise “near mint! Like brand new!” comics that look like garbage. I think you should look at the books and if they look acceptable to you, buy them and don’t depend on a seller who might be totally clueless
  13. Ant3 was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen and I watch all the Asylum movies. If they really thought that they had gold there then Feige has lost his mind
  14. Ah that’s unfortunate. Thanks for the info tho. Have fun at the con!
  15. Yeah One Stop was the only CGC presence there last year. I’m hoping there’s a choice this year but someone will be there
  16. I went to the show last year and will again this year to meet the baddest man on the planet. Unfortunately I don't really go to cons looking for comics because dealers overprice everything so I can't tell you how the show is for comic buying. I remember there being a couple booths with your typical $2-5-10 long boxes of full of junk but didn't spend a lot of time sifting through them. I don't remember many comic sellers at all, mainly a lot of toy dealers and Pops...so so so many people selling those goofy lame Pops. So, no, I don't think it's a great con if your primary interest is buying comics.
  17. What did this guy do with his poor comics? Jeez. I feel like Brando, “my boys, they massacred my boys…”
  18. Ngl the chisel looks pretty awesome. Not sure I like the double signing altho it’s perfectly on brand for Rob to autograph a book multiple times
  19. He’ll never get to finish his plan. He’s a very good filmmaker and I’m sure all his movies will be good to possibly great but people are over superheroes. Especially if you’re rebooting the same material over & over aka Superman. I predict his Superman movie will do decent but unspectacular business, say $800 million world, and that won’t be enough for WB who want billion plus grosses. Then one of the lesser known characters he picked - Authority or Supergirl my guess - will be an outright an bomb so they’ll let him finish his last movie or two then quietly let him go.
  20. No I don’t because then my fun hobby would seem too much like work.
  21. After my best ever finish last time, I strive again to achieve mediocrity so sign me up!
  22. Is this live yet? I have a CGC account obviously but when I click on signatures series submission on the online form, the option for Facilitator Event is greyed out
  23. Considering it’s Disney’s Xmen, I’m sure the winning pitch will be something like this: ”So you know how Xavier and Magneto are supposed to be parallels for Dr King and Malcolm X?” ”Sure. Sure.” ”We reimagine them as two African-Americans who developed their powers during the height of the Civil Rights movement.” ”Brilliant! We could even cast the guy who played Malcolm X!” ”And then we introduce Wolverine, who happens to be an Asian woman born in feudal Japan…” ”We love it! SOLD!”
  24. add this one to my stack @ 25% off as well
