  1. Yeah One Stop was the only CGC presence there last year. I’m hoping there’s a choice this year but someone will be there
  2. I went to the show last year and will again this year to meet the baddest man on the planet. Unfortunately I don't really go to cons looking for comics because dealers overprice everything so I can't tell you how the show is for comic buying. I remember there being a couple booths with your typical $2-5-10 long boxes of full of junk but didn't spend a lot of time sifting through them. I don't remember many comic sellers at all, mainly a lot of toy dealers and Pops...so so so many people selling those goofy lame Pops. So, no, I don't think it's a great con if your primary interest is buying comics.
  3. What did this guy do with his poor comics? Jeez. I feel like Brando, “my boys, they massacred my boys…”
  4. Ngl the chisel looks pretty awesome. Not sure I like the double signing altho it’s perfectly on brand for Rob to autograph a book multiple times
  5. He’ll never get to finish his plan. He’s a very good filmmaker and I’m sure all his movies will be good to possibly great but people are over superheroes. Especially if you’re rebooting the same material over & over aka Superman. I predict his Superman movie will do decent but unspectacular business, say $800 million world, and that won’t be enough for WB who want billion plus grosses. Then one of the lesser known characters he picked - Authority or Supergirl my guess - will be an outright an bomb so they’ll let him finish his last movie or two then quietly let him go.
  6. No I don’t because then my fun hobby would seem too much like work.
  7. After my best ever finish last time, I strive again to achieve mediocrity so sign me up!
  8. Is this live yet? I have a CGC account obviously but when I click on signatures series submission on the online form, the option for Facilitator Event is greyed out
  9. Considering it’s Disney’s Xmen, I’m sure the winning pitch will be something like this: ”So you know how Xavier and Magneto are supposed to be parallels for Dr King and Malcolm X?” ”Sure. Sure.” ”We reimagine them as two African-Americans who developed their powers during the height of the Civil Rights movement.” ”Brilliant! We could even cast the guy who played Malcolm X!” ”And then we introduce Wolverine, who happens to be an Asian woman born in feudal Japan…” ”We love it! SOLD!”
  10. add this one to my stack @ 25% off as well
  11. Worth to who? If you mean to sell, I’d throw away the dumb cover bc a serious collector probably just wants the page, not the fake cover. You won’t get a grade, you’ll get a PG note and all submitting does is verify it’s a legit page to buyers. Which probably would help you get maximum $$$ for it so it’d be worth it.
  12. Yeah, you have your post title backwards. It’s a running joke on IG, FB Comic groups, etc that 9.6 is the new 9,8 since absolutely flawless books are coming back 9.6 for no discernible reason. Ever since CGC expanded it seems the difference between them is a coin flip now so if you’re someone obsessive about 9.8s best leave one be when you get it.
  13. Suuuuure. And TSwift didn’t dump me for Travis Kelce, we just decided to go our separate ways.
  14. It makes sense if we knew more about the seller. If he has a new account or very few sales, people could’ve been spooked about buying a major book from a nobody. The old slab might’ve turned people off, too. And cream is never desirable. I find it funny he’s sought refuge with that goof who runs elite tho.
  15. The fact no title lasted more than 4 issues is probably why they didn’t catch on back then. Hard to get invested in something that gets cancelled a few months in. They’re comic nerd obscurities as far as collectibles go - like the people who collect monkey covers or Archie comics with B&V in bikinis. They’re fairly worthless as I’ve put together a good size run and paid $5 (or less) for each. Occasionally you find a dope on Mycomicshop or a IG sale asking $20 for one but nobody ever pays that. There’s no demand because your selling to a tiny tiny miniscule audience. As for movies/tv, the comic boom is almost dead anyway. And we lived through it and didn’t get anything from Image or Valiant (except that one unwatchable Vin Diesel movie) and those universes were infinitely more popular and cohesive.
  16. What was the next box over? If he was doing a natural progression I guess it’d be “Collectible Comics” then “Better Comics” then “90s Comics”
  17. Someone didn't watch Thor Love & Thunder... Someone is a lot smarter than most of us...
  18. You can do anything you like. As long as the slabs fit and you secure them so they don’t bang back and forth possibly scratching them any container is fine. There are proper dedicated slab comic boxes by CGC, BCW and a couple no names made specifically for slabs but you don’t HAVE to use them.
  19. Keep it as a set. Some of those books are kinda worthless so if you let people just cherry pick the valuable ones you’ll end up with 3-4 unsellable books. There is always a high roller who wants a full set like that. As for pricing, the #8 is a $1000 book all day long. When you add a custom label that’s like… $1,005. I’d start around $20k and just field offers.
  20. Instead of labeling white or off-white pages, I think magazines like that should note sticky/non-sticky pages
