  1. Some chicks that Garry has the hots for. I've got the hots for most comic book chicks. Sorry but i couldn't help it
  2. I don't agree Hoy is our greatest ever Olympian that everyone seems to be saying. He's won the most golds but that's only because in his sport he's eligable to enter many different competitions meaning multiple medals in each games. Ben Ainslie on the other hand, one medal in each of his games. Silver then 4 golds in a row. Only enters one competition per Olympics and sailing is hard work, it takes a week from start to finish. Plus i love how he just does his thing and gets on with it without the media spotlight. Oh and Ainslie is English
  3. Now that's a tough book to people who know what it is. Only 1000 made. Been looking for a NM+ copy for years. Great book, good price. Very few of these are still sealed and most are damaged from the cassette inside. Is that a backing board with it? What does it say on the back. GLWTS
  4. I wanted to ask, what are the toughest Marvel books from the 90's. Not rare promo's and variants but actual regular issues. After the big comic bust in the early 90's the print runs on some titles were really low, much lower than demand for those issues now. I'm talking about stuff such as the last few issues of Transformers, G.I Joe, Conan, etc. Hell even ASM in the early to mid 400's had a low print run in relation to current demand that some of these books often go for over $20 each.
  5. Reading them is bad enough. Indeed the last modern I bought with any regularity is now a Copper Age title Anyway, how does the business model work for new comics? what's the margin? is it like WHS retail of magazines? Books are ordered 3 months in advance from Diamond. Retailers pay less (not sure the exact price somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 cover price i think? Maybe Nick can answer that) but books are non returnable. So if you order too many then you'll need to sell 3 comics for everyone that doesn't sell. The old model before the direct market was that retailers could order as many as they wanted and were returnable but the price they paid per comic was much higher. With eBay and Paypal fees, rising postage costs and competition from others i don't see it as a viable business unless you have a strong subscriber base and supplement your income through other things including back issues.
  6. Everytime i've bought from A Place in Space the books were VF/NM at best. Not really good for an anal collector like me. I had a great guy who sold me my moderns. He was a big eBay player up until late 2007. Amazing to deal with, great prices, customer service. All books were bagged and boarded and NM+ and packaged great. Seems like the modern business was/is? a tough market. He sent me the following when he dropped out of the business despite selling thousands of books a month. Was a sad day
  7. Strange most of the copies of that book seem to be from the UK. I wonder if it was only released here.
  8. Every individual book has a unique code. It expires after 12 months. It's covered so people can't just write down the codes on their phones without buying the book first. CGC have said a removed sticker will be noted on the label. Think Tatooz on ASM 238.
  9. Now that's the copy i've been looking for! Congrats (thumbs u
  10. I think you're free to do whatever you want with your books but people are generally telling you what is probably your best bet financially and you're getting offended by it If you don't care about the money then go ahead and slab them. No one else cares about your money, they are just giving honest advice.
  11. What a great haul, that's crazy! So many of those are on my want list.
  12. You don't think BB and TDK are 10's and i took you for a Bat fan
