  1. I forget everything after the second pint. Wanna come over with your collection? Two pints on me.
  2. Thanks guys Very nice book What grade did it get? Thanks. It's an 8.0. Small stain on the back. Keeps it affordable Wow - from the the front cover - I was thinking 9.0 - 9.2 easy. And its one of the few I am missing Good thing i got to it first then

  4. Bad time for me, will (hopefully) be in the US before then
  5. Just arrived. A minigrail of mine, Juggernaut is in my top 3 favourite villains ever
  6. What's best "printed papers" or "old books"? Waiting for the day when someone at customs opens a slab and says "that's not a comic".
  7. I think i still have an entire run of Comics Internationals from the 90's.
  8. Why do you say that? only in that they only sell comics - and have significant back stock It feels like a real comic shop.... maybe i'm getting old It's a nice shop. Before that they had a tiny stall in the Putney Exchange then moved to a slightly bigger double stall before moving to the shop they're in now. Like you said they have a nice back issue stock, especially British comics. Over priced/overgraded but which shops aren't?
  9. It was, but it's now in the heart of Soho on Berwick Street. First time i've seen you post in this thread since i've been back. Why don't you post with your British brethren more often
  10. They Walk Among Us sounds familiar, didn't they used to be one of the main mail order dealers? I also remember names like; Dangerous Visions and Dark They Were and something Eyed?? Dark They Were And Golden Eyed was the first proper comic shop in London, situated in St. Anne's Court in Soho (ironically the same building where Ross and Gambaccini's Top Ten Comics was, in the early 90s). It was the mecca / hangout for what was then a pretty small geek community. It shut its doors in the late 70s, with most of its staff, including a pre-Comic Showcase Paul Hudson, relocating to Forbidden Planet in Denmark Street. They Walk Among Us was in Richmond - it had back issues but was mainly focused on merchandise and imports. After at least 15 years of trading it got taken over by Biff Averre of Ace Comics and is still very much open for business. Worth checking out if you're in Richmond...it's near the high street. 30th Century Comics is also still going - located on the Lower Richmond Road near Putney Bridge / High Street, it's definitely worth a look as they have a decent back issue selection. Never heard of this shop, gotta look for it now 30th Century is the only "real" comic shop still in existence in London. Though the owners make me smile. Remind of Mr Neat and Mr Tidy from the Mr Men I spent some serious coin there over a long period and was really let down by those two. Would rather not post it on a public forum though. No their not scammers or bad people but i won't be buying from there again.
  11. Just looked it up, last posted 6 weeks ago and before that not since 2011 so yeah not really active. Assimilated http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showprofile&User=252
  12. Has anyone asked "Borg". He's a really great guy.
  13. Disgusting I'll take them off your hands at 50% GPA
  14. I remember Avalon Comics had a 50% off sale once and it was actually great. Got some really cool stuff, this was in the 90's mind you. Anyone remember "Books Bits N' Bobs" in Kingston or "They Walk Among Us" in Richmond or "30th Century Comics" in Putney?
  15. That must have been the most expensive comic shop in the world
  16. If they said it would be paid on Monday i would give them a few extra days and if still no payment consider the deal dead and move on.
  17. Well you all probably read about the unpleasent events with NM 98 last week, i didn't want to resurrect all that but i did want to post the happy conclusion and boy did it make me happy! I couldn't believe it when this arrived in the post this morning. There are so many nice people on these boards but i really wasn't excpecting this. The person wishes to remain anonymous but i've thanked him as best i could with words. Made my week, month, maybe even year. Here it is
  18. Cheers bud. Just sorting out the fine print and then it will be all mine Yeah I've done a few deals with Brian and it was great to meet up with him when he was in London a couple of months ago. Well now that the #121 has been checked off, the next "key" is #227, that is my nemesis. I have passed on many a copy the past year, just trying to find my "perfect" copy. #171 - 1st SA Riddler is another one. Owned one before but lower grade copy. I had this one but sold it, was beautiful This is my 227 Best cover of all time imo
  19. Congrats on that Batman 121 Chris. Looks like a great copy. I'm sure you'll be really happy with it. Bought loads of books off Brian and he's A+. What other keys you need now?
  20. Maybe symbiotic would like in? He registred recently and i've seen him around a few threads. One where he was wondering about a 9.0 AF 15 in London for $9k P.S. I should be at the top of the list
  21. Yeah i saw that, that's why i asked. He didn't put no shipping outside the US and only changed it after you asked. Look on the bright side though, Iron Fist rocks I have edited correctly... Lies I seem to remember you being the owner of an Iron Fist # 14.
