  1. Yeah i saw that, that's why i asked. He didn't put no shipping outside the US and only changed it after you asked. Look on the bright side though, Iron Fist rocks I have edited correctly... Lies
  2. In some cases it might be to do with getting higher value books insured. A recent purchase of mine ran into this issue and I think that postal insurance rules may have changed as I hadn't had the problem before. And some sellers can't be bothered with the paperwork. You can always have the books sent to a U.S. boardie who will ship them to you, but that can be unwieldy. Yes comicdey and joeypost used to do this for me. Would have 10 packages shipped to each of them then they would send me the box together. Saved me a lot in shipping!
  3. Yeah i saw that, that's why i asked. He didn't put no shipping outside the US and only changed it after you asked. Look on the bright side though, Iron Fist sucks!
  4. What's with so many sellers in the market place not shipping outside the US/Canada. It used to be a very rare exception the last time i was around, now it's very common Oh well less impulse buys for me
  5. I have issues 1-40 in 9.6-9.8 (maybe 9.9 if im lucky) picked up new by myself The question is trade them for some silver age, get them slabbed or keep them
  6. Can you PM me the list if their in the 8.0-9.2 range. Cheers.
  7. Why have kids when you can spend it on comics
  8. Has anyone ever tried asking for comics at this site? http://uk.freecycle.org/ It's a site where people post stuff they want to give away and people post stuff they need hence it gets "recycled" instead of thrown away. Everything has to be free. It's split into 540 different areas around the UK. I tried a couple of my local areas but no luck. Just passing it on incase someone has better luck. Who knows you could find the UK equivalent of the Church collection
  9. Might have been, it was so long ago and i was only 11 at the time
  10. Again thank you all so much for having my back and supporting me. Sure i would love it if he did the right thing by sending the book or even better making a donation for the amount i was out to charity but that won't happen. So i just want this over with now, i've seen too many people arguing with each other, many whom i consider friends, and it's not what i wanted at all
  11. No i missed it, didn't find out about it until after it happened Hope you all had a great time and picked up some stuff. Saw there was a nice list of creators there including Stan the man. Hope next year happens. I remember a similar con in 93 i think called comic expo or something that bombed. Awesome piece BTW Stryfe!
  12. We should start a petition to get Nick to change his name to Goodison Stoat
  13. Thanks for the replies guys Maybe i should change my name to Anfield Mole Would love to hit a con but i think the nearest to where i'm going (VA, just out of DC) is Baltimore but that's not until September. Which cons have you guys been to? I've been to the US 5 times before and never been to a con! The closest thing were the comic marts here in London in the 90's. TUC in Oxford Street, Royal National in Russel Square and the one near King's Cross (what was that one called? never liked it compared to the other 2). Met Jonathon Ross there once.
  14. Thanks Would love to be in involved in the group therapy PM's, sounds like a blast When is the next meet? I'm heading stateside in a couple of weeks, plan to be there for a couple of months. Best of all cheap shipping that even Supapimp wouldn't be able to squirm out of
  15. That is a good point that was made in the CG thread. A.F. needs to figure out something that would be good enough to get him off the PL. MAybe $20 to Hero Initiative or something. +! I'm not sure what happened here, I seem to remember someone during one of the raffles, being unemployed and not able to afford shipping. If that was the case, the person might have felt funny mentioning it. I believe that after this incident, people were ASKED if they were willing to ship internationally. to prevent problems. Not everyone has the funds during the holidays for extra expenditurest. Sean's idea makes sense, although I'm not sure PL would fit here, maybe just not being allowed to join the raffle until he covers International shipping for one of the gifts. Sorry Sky but you clearly haven't read the threads. After he said he didn't want to pay shipping I OFFERED to pay the shipping as did others but he just ignored it. I was out about 100 bucks. If he wants to make good then a charitable donation around that amount would be fine by me, as long as it's through someone else as at this point i don't trust him. But he refuses to even READ the PM's so i don't see any of that happening.
  16. There are a number of people i don't know since i was last around so i just wanted to introduce myself My name is Matt, i'm almost 30. I started collecting comics around 87/88 with the Marvel UK Transformers. Then in 89 started collecting the US titles. I was introduced to the hobby by my cousin who was 10 years older than me and taught me everything about comics. Throughout the 90's i had up to 35 books on my pull list Now i mainly collect high grade Silver/Bronze/Copper with a few moderns sporadically. My favourite characters have always been Spider-Man, Daredevil and the X-Men and i'm trying for full runs on those titles but it's not easy! I own about 20 short boxes of comics left after a clearout but i still buy much more than i sell. Most of my expensive books i bought from here, some of my favourites are high grades copies of ASM 16, 50, annual #1 and Hulk 181. Aside from comics i like football (the name probably gave it away!), animals, action figures, online gaming, the pretty women in Nick's signature, movies and TV shows (I'm a big a fan of Lost and 24 as i am Spidey, almost at least). Hope to get to know you guys i don't already know better.
  17. Sounds good to me For All of Shame? It was $15, right? 5 years ago? And he's had no problems with anyone since? I'd say maybe that was probation-worthy if it'd been brought up at the time, but HoS five years later? Sounds like some serious overkill to me. Erm i don't think you read the details. A New Mutants 98 CGC 9.6 has never been $15. I was personally out about $80-100 with shipping if i remember correctly and it was 4 1/2 years ago. More than the cash amount it's about conduct, circumstances (Christmas for crying out loud!) and ignoring PM's and replies back then and even now. It's shameful. I let it slide until others were saying what a stand up guy he was and i wanted it known that well, he sadly isn't. Huh, did I just make up that bit about $15? Sorry 'bout that. And I'm not defending the guy, it's obviously embarrassingly lame to weasel your way out of a good-faith deal that's mostly just supposed to be fun on the holidays. I still think HoS is overkill though. At least in my mind, the HoS is for the egregious, often repeat offender, who tries to milk boardies for as much loot as they can under whatever pretenses they can get away with. If this had just happened, we'd be talking about the PL, no? I'd still like to know if it's the case that supapimp has had no troubles in the 4.5 years since. Fair enough. I have no idea about his dealings since then, i barely checked in after that because of getting shafted on half a dozen deals in a row, including Supapimp. I'll let others decide if it should be probation, HoS or nothing at all. People just suggested it in the other thread and after considering it i felt it was justified.

  19. A few people have suggested Supapimp be added to the Hall of Shame. Having considered it i would like to formally submit him. Here are the details http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5776619#Post5776619 Technically it wasn't a marketplace deal, more like a trade but i think it's eligible because: 1. I gave some stuff away and paid shipping to send it, he would have recieved something from someone else but he didn't give anything back despite promising to do so. That's receiving goods under false pretense, i.e; that's theft. 2. He used the excuse about not wanting to pay shipping despite my and others offering to pay it. He didn't even bother to read it. 3. He still refuses to make good on it and basically doesn't care. A few people in that thread said they won't deal with him anymore so might as well make it official.
  20. It's all good, i apologised to him for spamming
  21. Are there any Christian Bale SS books out there?
