I should have specified that I use the the UV protected showcases.

Yeah book definitely has its heavy spine dings, bought it thinking 6.5ish. It is attached at the staples and complete. Detached and incomplete books are dead to me.

I'll take it... Would be very happy to get it back at that grade.

I have used BCW Showcases for a lot of my ungraded Keys for a long time. Generally I love the product, but it has some issues imo. The product is intended to be used without a bag and board but I cannot bring myself to use them that way as there is room for book movement which will ding corners and cause general disarray. When putting books in the showcase with a bag and board I get the feeling that the case is putting stress on the book, which has caused me to remove most of my very high grade raw books to avoid even the slightest of damage. I've opted to place my highest grade books in a top-loader instead. Others have suggested trimming the boards to get a better fit, which I have done with my ASM 300 and WBN 32. I figured I'd get a discussion going on them and see how others display their raw books.

I'll take a 5.0 if that's all that can be had .. . Not an easy book at all but at least the price is still right.

Buyer beware is indeed correct. Which is why I try not to get to bent out of shape about my few missteps as a buyer. I felt the same way about the ASM 101 found it in the wild and pounced, it was beat to begin with and I knew it. $40 bucks for 1st Morbius is good no matter how I slice it. If I had bought it for full price at $80 I may have felt differently but all in all happy to have it in the collection.

Just for fun a couple books in my collection which I was stoked to have only to realize when placing them in new bag and board after getting them home something was terribly wrong. ASM 101 50% off the $79.99 asking price during a big sale one of my LCS was doing. Making the price paid $40. A beat up copy for sure with spine breaks and a roll but happy to get it for a steal of $40. But then... The Horror ..... THE HORROR Next ASM 238 asking price 89.99 labeled "Missing Tattoos" Haggled it down $75 Beautiful copy Go to re bag and board.... To reveal the gnarly staple pull.... 😱😱😱 Lol all my own fault for not pulling the books out and inspecting them before the purchase. I'd rather take a rich sucker for a ride than poor sucker.... All in all if I bought an Action #1 for $5 from anyone I would then inform the person of their error in judgement and then split profits from the auctioned sale. We are then both much better off, as someone else would have just taken them for a ride .... And I get to avoid the guilt complex. If it is not a life changing sum then take the deal and enjoy the book

I got my 4.0 WBN 32 for $50 from one of my former LCS about 2 years ago before I moved.... In the words of the employee going through the collection "It's pretty beat up make me an offer". $50 was my starting point.... He bit.

The possibility of unearthing one of my Grail books for a "steal" at a flea market, garage sale, antique shop is one of the few thrills I have left in life...... The fact that it would feel amazing if it happened almost definitely means it's unethical.
