  1. Very cool, Cosmic Comics sounds like it could be the one for me. If I can manage to hit both, I will. Thanks for the input.
  2. Thank you my good man. Should have figured this already was a thing and used the search function
  3. I'll be traveling to visit family and would love to hit a shop or two. Lmk if anyone has any suggestions.
  4. Very good to know, I think I will just avoid these books raw and buy it slabbed at some point soon. Is it all Marvel books around '68 or just specific titles?
  5. Other than my local comic shops or here I'm at a loss . There are some legit online stores attached to actual shops that I go to as well.(Midtown, newkadia, cloud9). Looks like I'm gonna strike out.
  6. ROFL.... point well taken ..... What I should have said was that this is the only safe place online to buy raw form other individuals. I do frequent multiple LCS.
  7. The current Spider-Man run is so bad it I'd rather eat glass than continue reading. Stopped around issue 9. I would much rather read the early run. And they tell me I'm a "Young Timer" but kids these days call me old.
  8. Well to end any mysterious intrigue. Here's the book. Book went for $475 (as you can see). I'd be pretty upset to get this book with a split spine at that price. It was sitting around $200 most of the week and then 20 minutes before it closed the feeding frenzy started.(as expected) If it was the stated grade I would have been happy to pay $350 for it. Made sure to look closely before bidding and I'm glad I did. Looks like a couple bidders convinced themselves the grade was higher than it is and drove it up. These boards are the only place to safely buy raw books.
  9. Bidding ends in 10 minutes ... I think I'll just stay away.... This is the only place I trust getting raw books.
  10. Was about to bid in this book but saw this pic. Am I hallucinating it is that a split at the bottom of the spine?
  11. For better or worse, I came of age during the wild west of the internet. I've seen every combination of insides on the outside. All it does is work up an appetite at this point. I have no sensibilities to offend.
  12. It's been recommended a few times. I've enjoyed what I've read from Kirkman. It's on the list.
  13. They would eliminate humanity taking the earth for themselves or rule over humanity like Greek Gods.
  14. All I know is mold is the only thing I fear in this world. Moisture breeds mold... Mold is everywhere.... IT'S EVERYWHERE ... Humidity is moisture run.. RUN!!! HIDE THE BOOKS IN THE DESERT IT'S THE ONLY WAY!!
  15. Those of us with bigger eyes than wallets would love a good crash.
  16. Long story short, we are in agreement. I would like the fat trimmed and nonsense writing on nonsense characters to go away. It's a waste of time and money, it is a failed business model and we've seen it happen before. What I don't want is a sanitized set of characters with safe writers boring me to death. On which, I'm sure we're in agreement. If I wanted to be anesthetized I'd drive my car into a telephone pole at 30 mph. The ten issues of new Spidey I read were awful.... Safe boring and ridiculous.... I mean Parker is roommates with Boomerang And to your point on Ross... 100% agree, why have a great Ross cover and fill the book with someone else's scribbling because it's cheap. Takes away from the entire experience and medium.
  17. No one asked for those titles. I'm not the strawman asking for Jessica Jones Equating what I was saying to advocating for Jessica Jones is disingenuous as it would be more in line with what I said earlier in my reply "Agree, They 100% do this to themselves and have for years... Marvel and DC Both. The money grab and unsustainable growth they want and pursue with things like 100 X-titles on top of the 1000 other drek titles" I believe I would categorize Jessica Jones in the quote "1000 other drek titles" What I'm advocating for is a character like Swamp Thing having a writer like Alan Moore take them from obscurity and revolutionizing them. If we look at the comic industry historically we see publishers putting safer writers on their mainstream A titles (leading to un-exhilerating story arcs) while some of the B, C level titles are helmed by riskier writers who see this medium as an art form, as I do. (not all.. especially not Jessica Jones)
  18. Spoiler alert🚨 Thanos keeping World Breaker Hulk on a leash and feeding him superheroes.+ Thanos smashing Galactus and taking his herald.+ Norrin Radd traveling the cosmos decimating evil until he is worthy of Mjolnir and then harnessing the annihilation wave in order to overpower Thanos.+ Radd then litery smashing Cosmic Ghost Riders head in two seconds. + Then Thanos smashing the Surfers skull against Mjolnir followed by Thanos on Thanos Violence and Thanos rejection of Lady Death.+++ Did you actually read the run or just posting four word opinions on content you haven't finished ... genuinely curious as to your issue with the run, or if it is just a general dislike for Thanos and/or Cates.
  19. Agree, They 100% do this to themselves and have for years... Marvel and DC Both. The money grab and unsustainable growth they want and pursue with things like 100 X-titles on top of the 1000 other drek titles all culminating in a nonsense venom-verse event that makes no sense. (And I'm a huge Venom fan but come on) The worst part of this is that some really good writing gets lost in all the noise. Lemire on Moon Knight was great. Cates on Thanos was awesome. Disagree with you on "Lower tier characters that no one cares about" because "that's like your opinion, bro", and one I strongly disagree with... A character of note does not become one overnight. When a writer wants to do one of those characters it's usually a passion project and leads into actual poignant art. New Spidey is horrible stopped buying and reading like 8 issues in. House of X/Powers of X are well written from what friends have told me and I like the general plot points that have read up on. Unfortunately it was like 30 X-titles too late I generally like Hickman so there's that. If they would focus on their good writers and artists let them work on passion projects and not dictate the work for a money grab from brain dead masses who need their identitarian issues mirrored in what used to be art, the situation would look very different. The art is still there but you need to dig to find it. The flame of actual creativity is being snuffed out by micromanaging PR sensitive troglodytes trying to fill a bag of money while they burn our industry to the ground.
  20. 100%.... I just couldn't resist the urge to be a smart *$$
  21. Lemire's Moon Knight run was top nocth .... Strong Recommend.
