Well, on the bright side there wasn't moths flying about the grading hall nor was she covered with silverfish.

However, bit disappointed they don't wear lab coats.

Hope they don't attempt redoing this scene

I propose it was stored in an exposed stack, that is, not in a closet or box/chest or other container.

The stack protected the pages from air exchange but the spine stuck out 1/4" or so, caught air and rotted.

Likely a publicity stunt.

I don't believe any of those are still in regular publication. Therefore they'd fit my definition of "abandoned properties".

Conan is hardly an "abandoned property", the others mentioned certainly have owners as well.
