  1. I am just throwing this out there. I have been buying quite a few books consigned at Mycomicshop from Bud Plant. That dealer has gorgeous Fawcett books, always what I am looking for, at really fair prices. If you are reading this, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you pricing to sell, and of course me buying them means it works Your books have reached a nice new home and a happy collector. All the best!
  2. Yes, that's why I am certain this happenned when the op sent it in for the signing. They pressed it after it happened which is why it looked the same to the op when he got it back and it took him posting it here to notice something was wrong after all. @Papalsin can you confirm that you sent it in still slabbed for this signing?
  3. Yeah for sure. There is only one adress to send them anyway. However, they will be sent back to you at different times (so you will be paying more for return shipping since it wont be in the same shipment)
  4. This site could interest you http://www.kaptainmyke.com/comics/howtopresscomics.htm
  5. That would only be true if the comics in the boxes were already slabbed. But they are not. You have to pay 30$ more out of your pocket per comic before any of these comics are worth anything. And I am sure there is no 10 in there.
  6. They lied. For a 9.8 the ONLY defects found on it have to be from manufacturing. Basically you can't have flaws on it, hence why its the grade that has become the gold standard. A spine tick/crease show the comic was handled or read. This is more like a 9.4, press or no press.
  7. Good, I was gonna make the post myself. Really looking forward to these. I already own this one but I wanted to show by contrast just how amazing your copy in case anyone is undecided. While you have that crease (that anyone could pay pocket change to have it removed by a professional) the colours are amazing. Here is my copy by comparison. Around the same grade. No creasing but look at how faded it is:
  8. So brave and the bold 200 should be ok? That one is glued.
  9. Was it ever confirmed that he was wearing a toupee?
  10. Nope, you can return anything through ebay. "There is a small crack in the back, it didnt show well in your photos"
  11. The op sent the book in slabbed, not in a window bag. So it could have happenned at any point after they cracked it open.
  12. That last part scares me a bit. That means they removed the comic from the bag to have him sign it. That's extra handling and more chance to mess up a book.
  13. Just wanted to add something. We were talking about SS books not being worth it for us. Well check this out. We know it cost $90 for the signing, and on top of that you have the shipping both ways (to and from CGC), the extra 5$ handling fee and the possible 20$ pressing fee (to make sure they get that 9.8). So yeah, money is being lost all around.
  14. Hey Jason, glad you reached out. DONT DO THIS Sending in a slabbed comic for them to unslab it is a surefire way to NOT preserve your grade. CGC allows it and will charge you an extra 5$ for them to crack your slab and then handle your comic for it to be signed. As soon as it is out of the slab, there is 0 guarantee for grade preservation. They write it in big red letters whenever you do a submission. And yet people still do it and it comes back a grade lower. And here is why, you are making more people handle your book and every moment of extra handling is a moment where something happens and your comic goes down a few points in grade. Someone sent in a 9.2 slab and it came back 7.5 because someone bent a corner of the comic as they were handling it. If you want to preserve your grade you are waaaay better off cracking it from the comfort of your own home and doing the window yourself. Like that you are in control of the situation and you have all the time to do it. It took me 3 hours getting 2 books window bagged the other day, making sure everything was fine. If your book is window bagged, then there is a lot less handling since you don't have to remove the comic from anything, ever. So less chance of a mishap.
  15. I still own this so I guess it,s a 3 way tie between Shazam 6, Shadow 1 and Korak 54
  16. It's odd but I feel the penciller will mess up his artwork more so than someone else, I just see it happen more often. Anyone remember Igor Kordy's New X-Men run, YIKES! But the one that comes to mind is actually a friend of mine and someone I deeply admire and respect. I just don't feel he was the best person to ink his work.
  17. Detective Comics 583, Brave and the Bold 200, Starslayer 2 and 10
  18. Hey Logan, just curious but who did you send this to for the clean and press?
  19. Being off by .2 is really not too bad. And good thing it's ultimate fallout 4 because in a 9.2, it's still a worthwhile grade.
  20. It depends the book of course. I'm old school so a 9.2 in GA or SA is seen as a home run, basically mint (in the traditional sense of the word). But this is a modern book and for many moderns, 9.2 is seen as low grade (by comparison, of course). @silversufer27which book is this and had you known it would get a 9.2, would you have sent it in?
