  1. If i can get the same prices here as I can on a place like Heritage, then yeah I would much rather buy from a fellow board member. I looked but couldn't find easily aside from the same keys. I am new here so if possible, could you message me with some tips as to how to search the marketplace forum and some links to what you found?
  2. If they do go for her dark version, lets hope they pick that one and not this one
  3. It does. Here's another Fawcett cover I find has that classic GA feel. Like Robotman said, these could really go toe to toe with the best of GA.
  4. Yeah, 9.0 sounds about right, could be higher.
  5. This is my favourite as well. I don't blame you for locking it up there I'd do the same.
  6. Dammit, I knew I should have kept my mouth shut! Congrats on the awesome purchase, it's a great looking comic.
  7. The 47 would interest me (couldn't find it in the marketplace forum, though I have to admit searching for "Captain Marvel" is a nightmare). You can send me a message with the link. What I am looking for more though are the other fawcett books, like Jr, Wow, Master, Bulletman, Marvel Family. And I would preffer them raw since I realized the non keys slabbed doesn't add any value at resale and you can't read them. You just don't find those online. I have no clue what abundance people speak of, unless they are just thinking of Captain Marvel adventures which is rather easy to get for some issues (and others are damn near impossible to find since no one bothers selling them). I do the same, here is my latest purchase: At 27% off guide price, I took it. Oh and here's another gorgeous Raboy cover I got for a little less than $90. I am so happy I can come into this hobby years later and still be able to get these gorgeous books for decent prices.
  8. The first step is to make a list of what you have and the condition. Here is a tutorial about figuring out the condition of a comic https://comics.ha.com/tutorial/comics-grading.s?show=comicdefinitions Once you have list of the comics and their condition you can look up in the price guide what they are worth. https://www.amazon.com/Overstreet-Comic-Book-Price-Guide/dp/160360233X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=overstreet+comic+book+price+guide+2020&qid=1582943996&sprefix=overstree&sr=8-3 And then once you have that figured out you can choose if they are worth selling. You can sell them on ebay or on these boards. But you have to do all the other stuff I mentionned first before thinking of where and how to sell.
  9. Where are you guys seeing all these wow comics, mary marvel comics, bulletman comics and captain marvel jr comics?
  10. Up to you, I just wanted to share a cover I found amazing with you, you can do with it as you wish. But hey, since I'm here, here's one that would count, master Comics 33
  11. I know, interest is very low, hence the prices. But I am here now (wasn't before). So if you want to sell some more and are looking for a buyer, let me know what you have. haha, that's a good example of two books I don't have in my collection yet.
  12. Those are all really beautiful looking copies. I especially love the ones which have him flying against (or with) missiles. And you may not have seen my edit above, but your number 26 is a pretty good book to have right now.
  13. Thanks, yes that is exactly what I meant. I did not know the label was encased in the same mylar as the book, hence why I thought those seals were really the end all be all.
  14. When you do choose to get rid of more, please let me know. I too believe that some of these hold up with the best of GA. You got some pretty amazing looking books there. That Captain Marvel Adventures #26 is now a nice key to have. Did you know the UK have their own variants? They are pretty awesome too.
  15. Same for me on both accounts. I bought it raw but the description in the listing said it was a Raboy cover. A beautiful book none the less, I love the colours.
  16. Mutant Beaver offers such services https://mutantbeavercomics.com/collections/graded-comics
  17. I tell myself that paying at auction at least gets me at market value since those are the sales that get captures in the GPA. And while Heritage has a crazy BP, it affects the seller more than the buyer. I thought everyone just looked at the price including the BP and bid accordingly. Don't buyers just look at how much the book is costing them in total, not caring about which percentage of that goes to the auction house and how much goes to the seller? Why wouldn't that be the case?
  18. There's a chance, you never know. What people have done in the past is pay the screening fee. Like that CGC will tell you if it would get a 9.8 or not. And if not, they send the book back to you.
  19. If he really cheaper than original art with "a listers"? I just purchased some pages of recent Detective Comics issues from Miguel Mendonça and found them to be rather cheap. Modern original art seems rather cheap in general unless it's a famous and sought after artist.
  20. So all the CGC slabs have the wrong info? It's written Raboy cover on them: https://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?title=Captain+Marvel+Jr.&issue=32&publisher=Fawcett+Publications&year=1945&issuedate=9-10/45
  21. Once a classic, always a classic, isn't that how it works? That's how I see it. You can take 5, but you'll have to arm wrestle me for 3. Man, joking aside, those comics do not end up on the market much at all. It might have (see below) but I actually liked the film. Quite a lot. I do agree with the 8-12 year old statement but to me that's what differentiates it from the rest. Captain Marvel was always about wish fulfillment, it was a comic tailor made for kids. So having the film follow that same idea is beautiful and it makes a nice contrast to the other superhero films around at the moment. I don't know man, for golden age books that are supposed to be "hot", they still seem ridiculously cheap. I just bought a slabbed Captain Marvel Jr 28. It's the second copy Heritage ever sold. They sold it unslabbed for 179 and then it was brought back 3 years later, slabbed and sold (to me) for 89. A Mac Raboy cover, and a comic many Raboy collectors don't have (assumption based on very small amount of recorded sales). And yet I bought it at a price that resulted in the seller getting nothing for it. That 89 bucks doesn't cover the fees spent on grading and selling at auction. That just sounds like the opposite of a hot comic. Am I the only one thinking these prices are low? Like lower than one would assume? Once again, not complaining, I love being able to buy these awesome books for the same price they were 20 years ago, now that I finally have some more disposable income. Good thing I prioritized Marvel Silver age 10 years ago when it was still somewhat affordable. Hey, maybe that's what's happening. So much money is being dumped elsewhere that something had to give. I LOVE Mac. I love those Mac prices even more
