  1. This has always been my biggest pet peeve of sellers here. Luckily very few do it. As I have said before, you get to sell for free so at least build it into the price or something so I don't feel like I am being screwed out of every penny. How do you even start meaningful negotiations on a sale price when the sales pitch begins with quibbling over 3% ----- and that very 3% builds in the security for buying over the Internet to begin with? Even on a thousand dollar book, 3% is only $30.
  2. I think we might go along VERY WELL. Aww… give me a break – that was and is the most fascinating aspect of Black Bolt (and Medusa). What makes you think everyone could invent a "thought translator" overnight? The Marvel age of comics has always been highly imaginative but not unlikely. Now it has become unlikely and very little imaginative (with good peace of presumptuous writers). And the "little antenna" as you call it, belongs to Lockjaw as well. What makes me think that they could invent a translator is the medium, comic books, think of all the crazy stuff they have invented for comic books, take the ultimate nullifier for example(from the same time period as black bolts first appearance), a device that can destroy anything in the universe and is the size of a cell phone, so with that in mind is a speaking device for black bolt really that much of a stretch of the imagination? And speaking of cell phones, could black bolt maybe send a couple text messages every now and then to clear up any confusion about what he really means instead of trying to communicate through body poses? Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and mine is that black bolt is BORING The early Inhumans issues in FF were difficult for Lee to dialogue as Kirby introduced multi-issue plots and let his imagination soar. Lee was not always able to predict where the plots and character development were heading. We see all sorts of plot confusion when we read the books one after another -- flaws that the monthly reader could easily miss in 1965 as they were caught up in the action. (thumbs u
  3. A nice book, most especially with Ayers signature. This book would be a fine addition to a Silver Age western collection. I tend to believe that most well-presenting westerns are tough and high grade books are a special breed.
  4. Incomplete books get a 0.5 grade in a blue label slab - my money's on a QA error as well. Ahhhh... Gotcha. Maybe they ran out of green ink. Won't be green. Green is for high-grade books with a hidden flaw -- hence the qualification.
  5. This one is a bear to find well-centred.
  6. Kirby and Brodsky with Goldberg on colours. Copy by Lee and lettering by Simek. This must have been an exciting book for the western fan to pluck off of the newsstand in 1965. Remember that feeling of "can't wait to get home to read this"?
  7. Nice. Last Clay Harder, if I recall correctly.
  8. I would not be confident that everybody is as experienced in pressing potential as some might be. I might also suggest that it is no more micromanaging a sales thread to insist on describing what is actually there as it is to demand methods of payment to be posted.
  9. If I walked into a home and saw these bookshelves, I'd be looking forward to a glass of good beer or wine and an evening of interesting conversation. (thumbs u
  10. Let's do front and back, just for the fun of it.
  11. Probably well worth your time to read this entire thread. Slab-Pro is a Thief Look for Joeypost's posts.
  12. It might just be a scanner artifact but there does appear to be a lot going on on the right hand side.
  13. Interesting brush and pen work. I looked it up: George Tuska inking himself. Thanks for the appreciation. I love this cover, and these issues are… Tuska was definitely a great, with his own limits but a great. He and Don Heck must be among the most undervalued Marvel artists, their pre-Marvel work is often awesome. I agree. Hindsight has added to my appreciation especially in terms of their storytelling abilities -- an aspect not so highly valued in many modern Marvels.
  14. This is a recurring discussion here, and it fascinates me each time. Is there really a difference between a seller saying: 1) Book costs $1030, but take a $30 discount if paying cash or check; vs 2) Book costs $1000, but add $30 if paying via fee-based PayPal; The only difference is mental, right? Why does the phrasing in #2 bother us so much more than #1? This is just a rhetorical question, of course...just one of the vagaries of human psychology, I suppose...fascinating. It makes it seem that the vendor is being put out by a service that provides instant payment and security -- both of which clearly facilitate Internet transactions. They might as well total up additional percentages for packing tape, boxes, bubble wrap, the cost of gas to the postal outlet, the mental stress of leaving the house ...

  17. If one is pre-selling, then declare it. If you don't actually own the book, then don't try to sell it.
  18. Actually, I think that is the very definition of drop shipping --- selling it without ever actually having it in your possession.
  19. This is one not often seen. (thumbs u Though given the quality of the photo it's almost not seen here.
  20. This is interesting. I'd like to hear more.
