  1. In almost all situations, I would assume an artist who didn’t bring drawing materials to a show they were attending did not want to bring drawing materials to a show they were attending. However, odd situations can arise. About seven years ago Peter Bagge was in town for the Boston Con. I happened to be at his table when he was phoning his pal Rick Altergott, telling him to come up and hang out. After Rick arrived, he was happy to draw a sketch for me though he had to borrow pen and paper from Peter.
  2. As long as the numbers are all caps, bold and 48 pt. type. At least I'm not interested in those later issues. That last sales thread was murder. I had to keep getting up from the computer and missed out on them all.
  3. I still have it! I started to question whether it was yours as I was typing.
  4. You had a lower grade copy years ago, no? Glad to see this thread bumped.
  5. I never considered the issue of crowding out other sellers, I’m coming at it from a strictly visual perspective and what it conveys. If a seller posts a 500 word essay for a title, it’s too much to wade through, especially if caps are used along with excess punctuation; the titles read like listings from those carnival barker schmucks on ebay I avoid. I’m also more interested in who the seller is. When I see a skypinkblu, Dr.X, GACollectibles or October sales thread for example, I want to look at it and see what’s for sale. Whereas when Ryan posts, I head right back to Comics General. I don’t need a laundry list of dozens of books in a title, just something simple, like “Atlas Pre-Code Horror,” "Silver and Bronze Marvels," "DC War," etc. is plenty.
  6. Let's set the pitchforks abaze! I was saddened to see skypinkblu jump on the bandwagon.
  7. So... am I the only person who doesn’t care for the current trend of wall of text sales thread titles?
  8. That's interesting, I've never seen that. My guess is that the British copy uses the original art (or stat), and the US cover was the altered version.
  9. Got this a few weeks back. I've never thought much about Chuck Miller but for some reason his work in this book really grabs me.
  10. I posted the Texas Kid last month in the pre-code thread, but forgot to post my other recent Western pickups.
  11. The only key is the 300; there's a handful of semi-keys.
  12. So, in other words you didn’t really want anyone’s opinions or collective knowledge, what you really wanted was everyone to tell you the pricing is spot on.
  13. If Point Five can do it, so can I! Upper left has a slight bend/ding.
  14. Unless it has already changed hands, I believe this is a board member book: Since you asked, it's not a trade I would make. Faded books are pretty much off the table for me, but everyone has different defects they dislike.
  15. You really, really, really should listen to FlyingDonut. He gave you solid advice and has probably sold tens of thousands of books over the many years he’s been at it.
  16. Mark is a fine and upstanding member of the Boards who ships quickly with good communication.
