  1. Unless your local presser is CFP, CSS, Hero Restoration, Susan Ciccone or someone of that caliber, I would be very hesitant to take such a high value book to the proverbial local guy who presses comics, especially if it's your grail.
  2. I generally only sell dupes of books I collect; for some reason I sold my sole JIM #49 years ago and still haven’t replaced it. Still have the scan though:
  3. @*Bronze age fan* At that rate the all the Marvels will be posted by the end of the month.
  4. I always enjoy seeing books that are out of my wheelhouse. I've never seen the Tom Terrific before.
  5. Whoah! It's a new avatar. A laterally reversed real-life Dr.X. At first glance at the thumbnail, I thought it was a Saticon:
  6. Welp, as noted in the '57 thread, '58 might be tough for the Marvel/Atlas crew, unless you happen to be *bronze age fan*. I don't think I have any of my '58 Marvels scanned, so let's start off with Turok!
  7. Any type of music is fine, as long as it is in the background, whether in a comic store, other retail environment, restaurant or even a record store. When it goes past that level and especially if it's loud, even if it is a song I love, I'm less likely to purchase anything and more likely to head towards the door.
  8. Funny you should ask! I started to make a list yesterday and was surprised at of the lack of ‘58s in my short boxes. I have more ‘57s i didn’t even get to, tons of ‘59s but only a handful of ‘58s. I need to start scanning.
  9. Ummm... isn't that from the collection of Ralph Macchio, the Marvel staffer, writer and editor, and not Ralph Macchio, the actor?
  10. Ahhh... the return of the etanick we know and love.
  11. You guys are always batting around the terms “millenials” “gen-xers” and “baby-boomers” but different people have different takes on what those terms mean, just like some people disagree over Bronze/Cooper/Modern. What would the age in years for these groups be? Boomers are guys who are 40+ years old? Gen-Xers 30+? Millenials 20+?
  12. I knew i forgot something! I think the last time I did that *Bronze age fan* brought it up.
  13. Good question. I always took is as the book was still a PHM until the hero actually debuted in the title. What do others think? For all farts like myself, PHM originally meant TOS 1-38, TTA 1-34, ST 67-100, JIM 50-82, AA 1-6 and AAF 7-14, the majority of which are "Big Monster" books. Nowadays a lot of people use it as a catchall term for anything Marvel put out prior to the superhero books, but to me pre-implosion '50s Atom Age fantasy titles aren’t PHM.
  14. I dropped the ball and it’s just about time for a new thread, so I’ll just blast through the remaining books from 1957 I have scanned and ready to go. Maybe I’ll add more later.
