  1. I've barely been buying anything for maybe about a year, but I managed to grab this when it popped up on the boards a week or so ago.
  2. I've had them turned off for a good 10-11 years. Ugh. Even if load times weren't an issue, all that visual clutter is. Can't stand them.
  3. While Vampirella has a fine figure and dupa, I think I find Power Girl more fetching.
  4. Arch, I don't care what everybody says... you're alright!
  5. Same here. I usually notice the avatar before the name of the poster. I’m not crazy about swapping them, but adjust pretty quickly provided they don’t change from week to week.
  6. I'd love to post something pithy, but it's time for Gomer.
  7. Back in the old days, the sales forum was not split into ages at all. Every type of book sold in a single forum. As the boards and sales forum grew, to makes things less unwieldy, it was divided up into the format we have now. This format was discussed between Arch and the membership at large to reach consensus. As a buyer of Gold, Silver and Bronze and a run collector, I would find it a huge PITA to have that forum split up further and an even bigger PITA if I was running a sales thread.
  8. I remember seeing them in 2007. I also remember getting PMs from xxxTunaBushwickxxx (sp.) asking me to give his topic or post five stars. Yeah, I couldn't remember exactly, just that they were done away with not all that long after i joined.
  9. Arch put the kibosh on ratings around 2006 IIRC. Wacky hijinks and zany antics were afoot when certain folks got trolled with low ratings, with predictably hilarious, ranting results.
  10. I lurked for about 6 months before diving in with a question about cracking a PGX slab IIRC. PointFive was among the first responders. I never had an issue with hazing. My posts might've been ignored more than an old timer's, but no hard knocks. 12 years later still no hard knocks and still persona non grata.
  11. Whoah! Everyone's turning up in this thread. Next thing you know Foolkiller will post a 2018 Dealer Review. If he can get the sand out of his toes.
  12. My biggest complaint about MCS is akin to keyword spamming on ebay. However, rather than include terms like “CGC it!” for raws or “Like CGC” for other companies, they use “1st Series." For example, let’s say I want to search for a copy of "Fantastic Four #1." I don’t get listing just for copies of that book, I get EVERY issue between 1-416 that MCS has listed, hundreds and hundreds of listings, pages of books besides #1 because they all say “1st Series” in the title and the search engine reads the “1”. I know I can run a filtered search minus MCS, but that’s a PITA to me.
  13. Don't let these guys jerk you around. To change your custom title, go to My Stuff, then go to Preferences. You can change your custom title there.
  14. Miscuts on this book seem pretty common. I've seen others with the same angle, including my keeper.
  15. I think some of the changes are just part of the normal life-cycle of a message board/forum, but Nik’s passing has always been my yardstick, too. There was a definite shift after that point.
  16. Strange Tales Annual #1, GD, 1" upper and lower spine split, tape on inner BC over tear. $70.
  17. Just one and done for this sales thread. Sales details are as follow: I can ship in the Priority Envelope for $6.65; boxed a little higher and at cost (around at $7-$10) but will cheerfully consider other options such as First Class if you want to keep the costs down. PM for international shipping quotes or questions. As usual, drop the if you'd like the book in the thread or via PM. In the event more than one person would like a book, the first by timestamp gets it regardless whether via PM or in the thread. Payment is expected within 7 days of invoice; payment accepted via PayPal; checks or postal money orders are fine, too. And of course, if you're not happy, return the books for your money back.
  18. That's probably the best plan for me anyway. The intro was looking a little too heavy and dark for my son; I'm sure he'll have no qualms about skipping to the fighting.
