  1. Some of the scuffs should clean up. Not much can be done about the scratches.
  2. How about a cool picture frame? Here is one you don't see everyday. Where Monsters Dwell #13 CGC 9.6 OW/W Pages. Really sharp copy. $235.00 (no sales in 3 years) SOLD
  3. Here's one for the Thanos Master Set. Avengers #125 CGC 9.4 OW.W Pages $250.00
  4. First up is a nice copy of a first appearance signed by George Perez. Avengers #196 CGC 9.6 OW/W Pages $275.00
  5. Will be listing a book or two each night this week depending on interest. First gets it. This can be either in the thread or via PM. I will use time stamp to determine the winner. No one on any list, or if I have you on ignore. Consider all books pressed. No returns on CGC books. Shipping is additional and exact to your door. PayPal and checks are fine.
  6. Structurally, it is better than a 7.0. Add the staining into the equation (which the eyes cannot pick up from the poor picture) and you are in the 7.0 range. Early on staining/tanning and foxing is what most newbies fail to take into consideration when evaluating a book.
  7. Actually, you can. Thereare many embossed books that do not have foil covers that are regularly pressed.
  8. I can flatten out a dog eared corner and improve the look and grade of a book. Takes no specific skill set other than being able to see the damage and access to some water or saliva to keep the bend flat. Improvement, for most on these boards, is not enough. If your going to pay for a simple press, pay a little extra and get it done right and maximize the potential of the book. Then gain, I guess some people are happy with whatever they get as long as they don’t go backwards or upside down.
  9. Technically I could do what you did with a spray bottle and a clothes iron. Heck, I got a boardies book to a 9.8 using an iron and a piece of paper. Because it looks better doesn’t mean it is a job well done.
  10. Appears there may have been markings with grease pencil at one point. I am going to assume, based on the final grade that the issues everyone keeps referring to as staining is actually foxing. Had they been actual water or food stains, 6.5 would have been very generous.
  11. I see issues that a press would remove, but that has to be weighed against the defects that pressing won’t help. Based on that formula, if it were my book, I would not take the chance. 8.5 is about as good as this book deserves.
  12. Yes, Mikes shop was down the street from the Midway theater. Bought books there in the late 80's and early 90's. IIRC there were 3 comic shops within walking distance in Forest Hills back then. One you had to go down the stairs to get to. Cant remember the name of the shop.
  13. Little Nemo in Forest Hills, Queens. IIRC it was under the LIRR ‘L’. The area was actually filmed in the original TM Spider-Man movie. He runs out from an alleyway and is seen in front of a fruit stand. The store was across from the fruit stand. Picked up lots of back issues from Richie M. At the aqueduct flea market back in the 70’s.
  14. Pressing wont, but there are techniques that can remove most superficial stains and fingerprints.
  15. Incredible Hulk #200 CGC 9.6 OW/W Pages 30 cent price variant $420.00
