  1. Some seem legit, while others were placed to drive the price up. Whoever gets the book should not consider themselves a winner...unless it is CGC.
  2. Final hammer is $965.00 from a 0 feedback bidder.
  3. Based on these notes: brittle/fragile cover, medium split top of spine, multiple chip out cover, three fourths split bottom of spine. A press would never add pieces back or cause a spine split to seal itself, so it would not benefit the book. In the case of this book it would most likely cause more damage even if it was done by someone who knew what they were doing. The ones that do know, would never accept a book like that.
  4. IIRC Gary (moondog) had a flood years back and some of his CGC slabs were damaged. He proved back then they were not water tight. The simplest solution is this was an error with the label and nothing more.
  5. I would expect no less from Steve. Regardless of how CGC found out about it, they did contact the owner and it appears he wanted more than just fixing the label. He must have wanted the difference in value of the book as he had it posted on EBay, cannot find the listing now. Found it. MP 15
  6. Could be dirt, but most likely is color rub. It can easily be removed.
  7. Closes tonight at midnight. Open to offers or interesting trades.
  8. Batman 232, Thor 193 and a few others to come Will be listing 1-2 books per night for the next week. No one on any list, or if I have you on ignore. Consider all books pressed. Shipping is extra and it will be the exact cost to your door. First gets it. Tonight I am listing Batman #232 in CGC 9.4 with OW/W Pages and Thor #193 CGC 9.6 with OW Pages Batman 232 $1,200.00 (last sale was $1,300.00) Thor #193 Square bound picture frame. Some distributors ink on top edge of front cover. $575.00 (last sale was $625.00)
  9. It would make sense that the more you know, the better the final outcome could be. While not an absolute, notes do help. Unfortunately with most CPR's the notes on 9.4 or 9.6 books are very limited, if there are any. Older books in the lower to mid-grade ranges would be the candidates where notes would be the most helpful in identifying upgrade possibilities.
  10. Had a chance to talk to him and some of the other greats in Baltimore way back when. He had so little traffic at his table we spoke for an hour about original art, movies and life in general.
  11. Looks like there still may be hockey to watch up in Calgary come late April.
  12. Front cover strong possibility. Back cover shows some breaks so < possible. But...you never know.
  13. Fandango did the same thing to me. I selected the 4 PM showing and purchased the tickets. When I get there it says our showing was at 10:00 AM. I purchased the tickets after 10:00 AM, so that was not a mix up on my end. Overall I like the movie as it did bring back to the feel of the old Monster movies.
  14. Thanks Dan. My son is super happy about his first comic purchase.
  15. You know it. Left the show early today as the buying was light. Did pick up a few nice bronze picture frame books and traded for a low grade FF 1
  16. Already tired. Caught a 5:15 flight this morning and am boarding my Seattle connection now. See everyone in Seattle.
