  1. There was another too. Some GA catman comics iirc, but i dont remember the seller. Gator and Alannas My I think Trey just felt it was OK to bend the rules deal with PGX books "under the table" so to speak in a "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" kind of way because a) he'd bought PGX books from other's selling threads b) he's seen others selling "non CGC graded" books in other selling threads and assumed that on the sly he could slide a sale through. Kind of like not making a full stop at a stop sign or crossing over the yellow lines in a parking lot. In the end if it gets enforced you will get caught and fined. Because Trey isn't a master mind criminal he got caught with his pants down, and badly and got taken to town on it. When he got pressed he reacted in exactly the wrong way. As if all the people that followed his first thread didn't know how he was going to react this time around. I personally don't see it as Probation List material as he wasn't trying to defraud anyone although he did break the rules (technically) and should be possibly nominated to the HOS and asked to apologize. And you have to be fair to Trey, so if this is the precedent that people want to set then maybe GAtor and alanna and Dale Roberts should have their knuckles rapped too for allegedly selling PGX books. Is this starting to sound a little ridiculous to anybody else? ps. I like Trey, Watson, Joey, GAtor, Alanna and Dale. Just trying to show a point. Maybe if Lennie Small was taught it was not OK to kill small animals and stroke them he would not have killed Curly's wife.
  2. The 30 day rule is not a statute of limitations. It is the amount of time that has to go by for a bad transaction to be made good before the PL process begins. Why was it mentioned none of this mattered since 30 days had expired?
  3. Probably not, but Trey shouldn't have been selling PGX books and lying about it to begin with. It doesn't matter if Joey stuck the book up his arse when he received it. If nobody had purchased the book Trey would still be in the wrong for selling or attempting to sell PGX books. But someone did buy the book. and would have accepted it and not revealed it. That is not an "if" scenario but what actually happened. If this is all supposed to be in support of the community, how would Joey's taking the book and deslabbing it for his collection support the community? It was all a masterful plot to discredit Trey Cannon. You sleuthed him out. He would've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling kids. Oh, and the next time Trey has a sales thread, load your buggy up. Throw your support and the support of the community behind him. (thumbs u So you consider my proposal that what he did is not PL worthy but instead is HOS worthy to be throwing support to him? How do you figure that? Probation List or Hall of Shame, what difference does it make? Check whatever box makes you feel good and move on. My God, it's like talking to a government worker. I'd like Doc to explain why he thinks Trey is so good at getting sketches? My dad used to have a phrase....smart-stupid. People that acted dumb but in fact were extremely smart and manipulative. I know you read my posts even though you have me on ignore and brendanb438 also asked, so fess up. Is this what you are saying Trey is doing? If you watch him in action, he does not appear to be someone with a handicap. Not saying one does not exist, but he knows what he is doing at shows. I saw him in action at Mega-Con a few years ago.

The posted 30 day rule has elapsed so neither the PL or the HOS should apply. Regardless of weather or not Joey purchased the book to press it and have it reslabbed for a profit, or weather or not he wanted to crack it out and display it in a mylar, or weather or not he knew it was or wasn't any other form of book than it was supposed to be... this transaction was completed and the time to complain about it has passed. I don't know Trey or Joey at all but since this transaction was completed to the satisfaction of both parties involved WITHIN THE TIME FRAME SPECIFIED, there really isn't any justification THIS TIME to put either man on any list or put either of their futures here to any vote concerning HOS. This all took place in the last 10 days. Are you saying 30 days have passed and the statute of limitations to complain no longer exist? Joey what date did you receive the book from Trey? Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. Payment was sent via paypal on 11/10/2011. IIRC he mailed it out Monday. Payment, now that I look at it was sent not to Trey but to a Ronnie Chandler. Not sure who that is.

  6. Actually it was not Trey soliciting feedback. It was, in your own words, But still - why would you say nothing, remove the book form the slab and keep it for yourself? You are confusing me initially outing him and then later, being asked by others to nominate him. When I write about the solicitation for feedback and the grief I received when I stated the book was in a PGX holder. When I was reminded of the other junk he tried to pull I did not nominate him for the PL. All I did was out him for selling a PGX slab. Why did I keep it? It was not worth the hassle of returning it, and I wanted a copy to read. If this was a purchase to do CPR on, I would have made a bigger deal out of it. In the end I got what I wanted, a raw book. Had it come in a CGC holder it would be sitting in the same mylite and fullback.
  7. Probably not, but Trey shouldn't have been selling PGX books and lying about it to begin with. It doesn't matter if Joey stuck the book up his arse when he received it. It does if he decides to nominate for the PL. By doing that he both acknowledged and accepted the deal. He made himself a supporter of it and a part of it. It was qapparent he would have said nothing about it. Until the feedback fiasco. It is not unlike receiving stolen goods. Yes, the thief was wrong to steal. Was the receiver in the right to know they were stolen and still accept them? As I have said many times before I made a mistake in not outing him the second I saw the slab was a PGX slab. The 500 things I have to do during the day took my mind off of it until Trey reminded me with his solicitation for feedback. My failure to alert the boards immediately is all I am at fault for. And in all honesty I forgot about his other attempts to sell here without having the goods in hand. When they were brought to my attention I acted as I have said in numerous posts in both threads dealing with the sale. Anyone who really knows me on the boards know I am always days late with correspondence, even when I am owed money.
  8. Oh but they are mutually exclusive. The sales forum is a place provided by CGC for buyers and sellers to interact and buy and sell. It has specific rules. The rest of the boards are where we all get to express opinion. It is already a matter of fact that opinions expressed in the sales forum can't cross the line of thread krapping. There is an entirely different etiquette to the sales forum. That etiquette is there to help buyers and sellers. So if there is no issue between buyer and seller the issue must be between the seller and the boards. That, to me treads the line of a popularity contest. Joey is one of the most beloved board members. He is certainly one of my favorite guys around here. Trey, on the other hand, is not so highly regarded. He has brought much of the disdain upon himself with some of his past actions. Let's face it, he's a knucklehead. But in this instance it seems to me there is a ton of piling on for something which, in hindsight, was a fully consummated and satisfactory transaction for both parties. Richard, I consider you to be one of the hobbies good guys. Always level headed and easy to deal with. I see your line of reasoning, I truly do and if it I had a do over I would out him the second I saw the PGX slab. Despite what has happened I am not one to pile on anyone. I have been the brunt of attacks in the past due to what I do. This incident was an accumulation of things rather than my response to his feedback request. I thought it rather forward to ask for feedback on a PGX book. He denied it was in a PGX slab in the sales thread. I took him for his word. I shoudl have known something was up when he asked me if I wanted to keep it in the slab when he shipped it. I said to do so for the extra protection. All this time I was assuming it was a CGC slab, Given his selling history I figured he would not want to attract that kind of attention again. I was wrong. When I received it I cracked it out, read it and tossed it in a mylite. I really forgot about the whole thing until he asked for positive feedback. Even then I was not going to out him (again 100% my fault). I asked a few forum members who I respect on their opinion. They reminded me of all the other junk he had tried to pull and I then realised this was strike three. In the end I took into consideration his attitude about the whole transaction (even how he threw everyone else under the bus who had listed PGX books in the past, argued over the grade and lied in his sales thread), the fact it was a PGX case, the fact this was the third time and I had an obligation to the boards. I knew I would get grief, I expected it because I did not act right away, and truth be told none of this would have happened if he did not remind me when asking for feedback. So please believe me when I say it was not just about feedback.
  9. (thumbs u If being stupid enough to buy a book from Trey is enough fodder to add me to the PL feel free to do so.
  10. Trey should either be placed on the probation list or given a suspension for selling a PGX book. Anything after that is moot. I agree with moderator action being the remedy for selling a PGX book outside the clearly stated rules of the forum. However, that's a mod action not a mob action. (see what I did there?) Anyway... As for probation list, there must be another reason aside from it simply being a PGX book. Something like overtly lying about the book, or refusing a refund of the book if returned in the same condition sent, or something else I may have missed during Friday Night Drama-Con 2011. If the beef was just for being a PGX book then it could have been remedied as soon as the buyer saw that it was a PGX book, if indeed, that was the reason for the angst. It doesn't seem like the fact that the book was PGX is the reason we are still talking about this. If that's true, then we need to stop talking about the fact that the book was PGX and let the moderators handle that transgression in the established and appropriate way Then we can get down to the actual, factual and clearly enumerated reasons why or why not the probation list is the proper place for this seller based on the details of this transaction. Right now it feels like everyone is talking about PGX and only PGX and, based on what I am seeing, it's clouding and distracting from figuring out what (if any) actual probation list transgressions may have occurred. He lied about the book being a PGX book. Joey could have returned the book, but chose not make an issue out of it, as he has a childhood fondness for the book, until he was pressed for positive feedback. I completely missed the original sales thread, was he selling it as a CGC slab? or as a slabbed copy leading buyers to believe it was CGC? The thread's gone now, but it's my understanding that the scans obfuscated the label, and when called on the fact that it was a PGX comic, he made with the coyness. obfuscated
  11. Would you also like for me to tell you why I still believe the world is flat? It's not?
  12. Trey should either be placed on the probation list or given a suspension for selling a PGX book. Anything after that is moot. If it's a PL offense, what's he supposed to do to get himself off? (Innuendo intended ) Apologise to the boards for threatening to sue everyone. Really, how immature is that. The only thing he could have said to trump that was "My Daddy will beat you up if you don't". Acknowledge the fact he lied about posting a PGX book. If he can do those two simple things I think that would suffice to get him off the PL or HOS. And for those who think I belong I would like to see your reasoning why.
  13. Most of the mods are drunk by this hour on a Friday night. possibly. The day was actually going well until...
  14. I changed my mind. Seeing he had no problem posting the transaction PM everywhere and the mods seem reluctant to remove them I nominate Trey for selling PGX slabs on the CGC boards. Breaking rule #1 and being a repeat offender.
  15. He has to be nominated by somebody. He has provided enough rope for anyone to do it but feel free. (thumbs u If someone else wants to they can go ahead. I think everyone knows who they are dealing with.
  16. Do I actually have to nominate him? Or did he provide enough rope to have done it himself?
  17. Especially after all this discussion about how tough it is to track one down, you know there is a strong chance for this to happen soon. Remember three years ago when boardies were saying we would never see more than a few GI Joe 21's in 9.8 when that book was going for $2,000-$2,500? Peasofcrap sold his for $,2000 or more when he was just the third one in the census, and there was talk of spine stress from production at that time. As was mentioned already, Joe #21 did NOT have the production flaws that would keep it out of 9.8. Those who "talked of spine stress from production" didn't know what they were talking about. Exactly my point! And the census proved this out. In the case of Wolverine 35, there is no doubt it does have such flaws. But there is a strong possibility there will be a 9.8 found if CGC recognizes even the slightest stress line was part of the production run, and those with minor imperfections will be considered the best of the lot. CGC adjusts its grading every once in a while to account for such things, rather than grading everything the same way. After all this discussion, I would be surprised if CGC doesn't take note of the flaw (if they haven't already). Has anyone called CGC and spoke with a grader about this book? I have and the quick word was some of these defects are too severe. I would imagine if you find on with one small tear or srease it might be treated like a bindery tear at that point. have not found one yet.
  18. Spot on Brian. I wonder who the OP really is
  19. yep. just like GI JOE 21 and ASM 301, now they're everywhere. And those two polybagged UXM in the late 290s. I have to disagree here. The UXM books had pressable defects. GI Joe 21 did not have an issue with defects in the print run. ASM 301 is pretty much the same as GI Joe 21. This is a book manufactured with enough damage that none so far have gotten the 9.8 designation. Thats pretty rare for a book from this time period. Trust me, I have reason to find a nice copy. I have a friend that needs one. What is funny, is I had dozens of copies at one time and never took the time to even care about the book. It's wasn't on my radar then. Worldsbestcomics needs one as well. I have 2 friends then. Really? Who? You don't know them
