  1. In some cases, yea. I see this a lot, but mainly on the top edge so I. Was surprised to see it on the bottom this time around.
  2. The top issue was when the paper was bent backwards. The person pressing the book would have to be blind to miss that before putting the book a bag and sending off to CGC. The ripples in the back cover were from the inner well. When I removed the book from the inner the ripples went away.
  3. It has been my experience that even light color breaking creases are noted, even when they lay perfectly flat. Especially if they happen in the white areas of the cover, where no color break technically happens but a thin line is still remains.
  4. Interestingly, I do not have that issue with the SRP I use. I tried parchment in the past but did not like working with it. Guess that’s why there is chocolate and vanilla.
  5. The ripples he points out in an earlier post were from the inner well, which is very common.
  6. Mike sent me the books to review. I cracked out the MS 32 and this is the only issue with a real crease I see on the front cover. Everything else lays flat.
  7. crease left bottom of back covercrease left top of front cover
  8. I have customers ship orders to me that way. Roughly 10% of them have some kind of damage.
  9. Moral of the story...always properly insure the book. It's no different than some putting a value of $100 on the CGC submission form for a book that is really worth $500. When you do that, you are in essence, accepting the liability if the book gets damaged or lost.
  10. Hopefully everyone who like to “display” their slabs see this. Even with protection fading still occurs, just at a much slower rate.
  11. I blew the picture up and noticed CGC did not include a major defect in the notes which may be why the grade is 6.0 despite the book looking better. Look on the right edge of the back cover where it says “idea book all the way down to Lego logo in the larger of the boxes. There is a fairly large tide mark from water damage. That alone would put this in the 7.5 range.
  12. Moderns are graded differently. Different printing techniques determine that. But and this is based on what I see in the notes, a corner crunch is a handling issue. Was this present when the book was sent in?
  13. Correct. The outer cover is infused with silicone to keep the "real cover" from damage and color rub. If removing it yourself, make sure to really inspect the area around the staples, as I see many books with remnants of the protective wrap stuck to the staple area.
