  1. It all depends what you have in the book. I have turned many a $1 book into a $75-$100 books. Factoring in grading, pressing, shipping and consignment fees I can double my money on some books, and turn a profit on others. You do have to know what you are doing, or trust someone that does.
  2. Are you talking about a book that has an actual spine roll that is being reversed, or a book that is being doctored so that small spine issues have been "shifted" so they are no longer visible on he front cover? I have seen some golden/silver age books with staples 1/4 inch into the back cover. No manipulation took place, it was a manufacturing issue.
  3. I would agree with this statement. Lately there has been no rhyme or reason on grades. Books that fail a 9.6 pre-screen one week come back 9.8's a month later.
  4. Depending on the tier of service the next step is waiting. Look at CGC’s turn around times for that tier on their website, and that will give you a good ide of how long the wait will be. Value tier has the longest wait times ATM. Once the books move from received to scheduled for grading things pick up in pace, but you won’t get grades until the books physically ship out of CGC’ s facility.
  5. I think I am responsible for most of the 9.2 copies on the market.
  6. Aside from my Hulk PF’s, this was the only one I kept.
  7. The deep purple on his book makes it very difficult to find with small spine breaks. Back cover is even worse.
  8. If they keep staff to ten or less they shouldn’t have a problem. They may work in shifts to keep grading going without breaking the mandate to keep groups to 10 or less.
  9. Great news indeed. I am sure all the supporting businesses will also stay open feeding the CGC machine.
  10. I get in all kinds of moderns, mostly signature books. Some aren't worth the paper they are printed on...until they get signed. Then, it seems, some turn to gold.
  11. If you look at what Florida considers "essential" it would not surprise me that they stay open, especially if the do not permit pick up or drop off of books.
  12. I don't think anything is 100% until they get the virus under control.
  13. Can’t make everyone happy I guess. Had he contacted me, I would have made things right.
  14. I would help you fix that. I do it for a lot of my customers.
  15. It would be sad if Terry's small two day show was the only one I attended in 2020.
  16. No. Just a lot of books I acquired over the years. Had a final hammer price amount in mind when I sent them in. Februarys auctions were right on the money. March's numbers look like they will be off.
  17. I'm in the same boat. I have 350 books at c-link ATM. present bidding has the books roughly at 30% of GPA. Many of the books have two weeks to go, but 225 of them end in 5 or less days.
  18. Thread closes at midnight tonight. Thanks to everyone who purchased books.
  19. I spray everything coming in and going out.
