  1. Do you mind saying which books you won?
  2. Um, I think I'm the one who should be slapping his forehead, not you.
  3. Thanks John, Although none of the books that were sold yesterday and today were Bronze Age, there will be a great number of them coming up in future Heritage Sunday auctions. Hope you win some. (thumbs u Andy
  4. Richard, did you win the SSWS 84? That one went for peanuts. I'd love to buy it back for $1200 if the buyer's interested.
  5. Looks like I made a mistake, it may have actually sold for $388 including the premium. Still a HUGE deal for the buyer!
  6. I hope one of you guys won this in the Heritage auction today. AAMOW #128 CGC 7.5 sold for $263 including the juice. This same book sold for 4 times that amount before.
  7. Glad things worked out the way they did.
  8. Thanks! I am still too attached to Overstreet prices on 9.2 and under books....I have to learn that sometimes it is not overpaying to pay more than guide for these books. I missed out on so many beautiful books from the original Keith Marlow collection because I was too attached to the frikken OSPG. Boy, I wished I kept that book closed.
  9. Double would be one heck of a deal. Realistically, that book would sell for $4000-$5000. (thumbs u Hence my "offer". I had typed up a whole response, quoting GPA, but stupid Explorer froze, and it was all lost. But the last sale of the 9.0 was $1955 last fall. I already bid on yours. Yep, I paid $1955 plus buyer's premium. I forget what that was....10-15%, I think. Cost was $2200-$2300. I still figured that was a decent deal as the book was a $3000 book in my mind. I don't think we'll see a 9.2 or 9.4 of this book for years, if not ever. Mind you, only time will tell. My SSWS #85 CGC 7.5 is currently sitting at $1. Could be a steal?
  10. Double would be one heck of a deal. Realistically, that book would sell for $4000-$5000. (thumbs u
  11. My bid for this book was $444. I wanted it badly. So you can imagine how excited I was to win it for $90.
  12. Posted this in General, but I feel I would be cheating on all of you if I didn't post it here. Well, I think I did wonderfully on this particular book. Star Spangled War Stories #38, highest graded copy at 7.5. Other than being a great book, earlier 10 cent DC war, it boasts the first Russ Heath cover (for DC war). For only $90!
  13. I don't think you overpaid, either. High when compared to Overstreet, but so what. You have the highest graded copy of that book. A 9.0 for that book is great! A better one may exist and may get graded at some point, but it's a book that you wanted and you got it! Congrats!!! Andy
  14. Killer grade on a killer book! Wowsa, now I know who I was bidding against. Sorry.
  15. Just wanted to post. Will read the thread tomorrow. One can never be too sure.
  16. thanks for the kind words, John. It's sad to see them go but I will always have my memories. (thumbs u
  17. Hi all, I'm doing something a little different in promoting my auctions, I'm having a contest with prizes. Here's the link to my auction promo thread. Here's the link to the post within that thread, explaining the contest and rules. Spread the word, bring some friends, and let's test our knowledge of today's market for these books. (thumbs u Thanks for putting up with me. Andy

  20. Well, I just finished reading this year's War Report by Matt Ballesteros, Richard Evans, Keith Marlow, and Mick Rabin. What can I say but.... Another great job done, boys. I can see more and more folks becoming interested in war books, soley on your fabulous efforts put forth there. For those that don't know where I read this, be sure to check out the 2010/11 Overstreet guide (pages 136-141). Again, very well done. They even dropped my name and most importantly, our very own CGC boards. (thumbs u Andy
  21. Always happy to deal with you, Fay. Thank you! Andy
