  1. Thank McFarlane. He mentioned it on one of his recent CGC videos.
  2. 9.0. I can't unsee the part of the moon they didn't color in
  3. Yeah, 6ish is where it's at. Maybe a 7.0 with an expert press. M y guy has been holding off on doing mine b/c of the fallout from the movie. He thinks they've seen too many of these recently.
  4. It looks like the bottom spine corner has been clipped off or something? If that's what's going on, this is going to grade really low. Without the corner 6.5ish. With it, lower. I'd say the cost to grade exceeds the value of the graded book
  5. yeah, IDK. Anecdotally, they have been treating discoloration defects harder that at one point in history were allowable. Going the direction of stains even though it's from natural processes.
  6. Agreed. The inside art is also fantastic if you've never seen it. I want a MJs edition of this book next. I'll never find one though.
  7. My over/under here is 9.2. Looks as good as another magazine with this grade I have. Apparently, I am a glutton for punishment since my magazine from his signing last year is *still* at GEI (since Oct). CCs signed the comics sent the same time on 4/20/22. Will that book get back to me in under a year? Will this book like in Sarasota for more than 12 months? Stay tuned.
  8. Struggled quite a bit deciding which Claremonts made sense at the price point (which I think went up since last year?). Ultimately, most of the ones I considered weren't valuable and/or high grade enough to make sense, especially given the large number of his sig books out there. This one goes b/c it looks great from the front (almost as good as a 9.6 #129 I got back recently), but the back has the issues, so the sig will distract from whatever number appears on the top left of the case.
  9. Off to Layton's in-house signing at CGC. Still only 2 universal 8.5s on the census. Another one that should be neat regardless. I also emailed Bob to ask if this was his first professional work. I wasn't expecting an answer from him or Milgrom, but Bob wrote me back faster than people I work with respond to emails. Apparently, he doesn't consider this his first professional work b/c it wasn't paid work. A lot more ambiguity that I expected. I figured most creators would have something they considered their first work in comics.
  10. Starlin & Milgrom are coming to a semi-local con in April. Not going myself, but sent it off to a facilitator to grab a double. I think this will be really neat, grade aside. I actually emailed Milgrom on a whim to verify J Star was Starlin (not trusting the internet) & to ask if this was their "first" published work. Apparently, he and Jim have some work in high school yearbooks prior to this. I also did the math and realized Al was around 16 and Jim around 17 when they published this. Crazy.
  11. Posted the raw picture quite some time ago, but it's signed & graded now.
