  1. 4.0/4.5 the TRFC has too much creasing coupled to the spine issue for me to see this in the high VG or FN range
  2. That's a pretty big piece out along the spine. 1.5 is the max & 1.0 is possible. Definitely better than a 0.5 IMO.
  3. I see enough little corner dings, particularly on the back to expect around a 9.2. 9.4 as a best case if lucky. To me, you want the overwhelming majority of books from the last ~20 years to have a high % chance of hitting a 9.6 or 9.8 to consider grading. The exception being the rare book that sells for >$100 in grades <9.6. There's just too many graded modern books out there where the combined costs of grading, plus what you could recoup selling the borderline raw copy, would nearly cover the cost of buying the graded book. A recent 9.4 of this one sold for <$70 & there's another listed right now for $59 with no bids. You can do the math on grading vs buying graded with that. That's my approach, look at sales & calculate whether combined pressing/grading/shipping add up to a worthwhile investment (and then hope I'm not over-grading my book).
  4. 7.5 but I'm worried the inside paper oxidation will drop it another grade or 2.
  5. 9.0. Maybe a grade lower if the condensation marks look worse in person
  6. I own a 4.5 that has marker on the cover crossing out a price & writing in a new one. There marking are a little more dubious in their intent. I'll go down to 3.0/3.5, but a CGC grader might view this less harshly if they seem them with some regularity & there is some purpose.
  7. I'd call this a 4.0 up to the point of ignoring the two dots above Fantastic and the slash marks by the price box. What are these?
  8. Sharp eyes there. I did check this, as well as images of other copies in online sales. It's hard for me to see the staples in a lot of them, but it appears to me that this book was bound with copper (or similar) staples. The definitely look clean & consistent up close.
  9. Still dabbling a bit in zines. It seems like Rocket Blast's ComicCollector was mostly a buying/selling magazine. A few reviews & previews, but mostly comics wanted or for sale. I included one such ad up so everyone can imagine $15 for an Amazing Fantasy 15 as an enticing offer. I mean, it was before my parents were even married, but still. I will honor any of these prices if someone is selling though. Anyway, some of these RBCCs have nice covers. Gil Kane did this one, which is a simplified version of his Marvel Premiere 1 cover. Couple of notes. The TLFC is bent, but color not significantly broken. There's also a light indention going down the TRFC that's not color breaking and hard to see in photos. I suspect I can get the latter to press out and the former to look less crimped. The white textured look around the title is real. I though it might be ink loss, but it's consistent over every copy I've seen. Not sure what it's supposed to be. Nevertheless, the orange seems to be pretty susceptible to rubbing off. Of the few copies I've seen the color doesn't look as consistent as this one. That said, there may be much nicer copies out there secured in collections, or just not listed for sale since the demand is too low.
  10. This looks 6.5ish without accounting for the stain. You'll lose a grade for that. 6.0.
  11. It would be helpful to have top-down (not angled) shots of the front & back cover
  12. Bought this from a new source. Casually following online listings for quite a while, most copies look like 🐕💩 and/or are priced way above FMV. Not perfect, but nice. Looking to see how our collective grading compares to the seller's.
  13. 7.0/7.5 as is. Back is dirty, but it kind of looks like it could be ink transfer, so IDK if it would come off. Some dents and whatnot. Maybe clean/press to 8.0/8.5
  14. Not much to complain about here, at least at the resolution of the photos. They're a little dark. That said, >9.2. Very nice copy.
  15. 8.5ish light spine stress lines, corner wear
