  1. Wanna say 8.0 pressed, obviously a bit lower now. Frequently surprised when a book like this comes out higher than I expect.
  2. True. CGC guide clearly states that the book with a missing page has to be 3.5 or higher to receive a qualified grade. Way too much going on to get that high. If this wasn't Avengers 4, I would not expect it to go over 2.5. 3.0 takes into account all anecdotal key bumps.
  3. 0.5, but might squeak a 1.0 if a grader is feeling generous.
  4. yip. 3.5. Make sure to count the pages. There are more copies that you might imagine that have an advertising page removed. I didn't know mine had had that done & I've seen others since then.
  5. 4.0. It would be interesting, if nothing else, to see how well the writing impressions could be pressed out.
  6. The back looks *way* better post c/p. I'm not 100% sure a 7.0 is consistent with what I've seen for similar defects on square bound books, but I can see a 6.5 with a key bump getting to 7.0. What a great result & a book to own.
  7. Moisture exposure will torpedo chances to move the grade around with c/p. I could see this getting to 5.0 with work by a skilled presser.
  8. 9.2/9.4. I'd go higher, but I think I see some minor handling defects.
  9. 7.5, maybe 8.0. I have a book from the same era with a pretty mauled corner that still pulled a 7.5. I think this is at least as nice.
  10. In the right hands, I can see this getting to 9.2/9.4. Nice find.
  11. Qualified 8.0. IMO, it's not worth submitting restored comics to CGC unless they're like GA & can be "conserved" rather than "restored". With a reprint book like this (X-Men 40 is a personal early fave of mine), you're underwater, or close to it, on value vs. cost of grading. FMV unrestored looking like this is probably a $150-160 book, so it *might* sell for $80 (I'd bet lower tho). It certainly looks great & would display well in a rigid holder of some kind. Nice to have in a PC.
