  1. Looks like it would benefit from a press. VG+.
  2. I count 6 spine ticks between front and back cover. At least 1 maybe 2 don’t break color, so pressing may be beneficial. The rubbing / scuffing is what is going to hold this down. I don’t think you can be in the 9.0 range or higher with that defect. I think as is it is VF range (7.5/8.0) and could improve to VF+ range (8.5). If it’s just for your collection, it presents very well and would look great in a Mylar
  3. Anecdotally, I have never seen any CGC book with water damage / staining higher than 3.0 from CGC. Moderns are tough to grade when it’s not high grade and you’re counting spine ticks . Technically, this is VG range. Maybe higher. But given that it’s a modern with a pronounced defect, it’s probably going to grade lower than that. If there’s no rust / staining…a press would benefit it. I think you’d get into the VF range with a press.
  4. Hey everyone. So I’m building out a new entertainment room and was thinking of incorporating the collection to the entertainment room. I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar (and used something other than the long-boxes). I guess I’m really asking for some inspiration. I’ve been storing with long boxes for nearly 30 years so I cannot really picture anything else. Any suggestions (and photos!) would be very appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Really hard to tell with photos. Light can play tricks on you, which is why a scan is always better. Looks to me to be in VF range. You have some spine ticks (some which look like they'll press out), some edge/corner wear and what appears to be some light soiling on the back cover near the spine. Pretty copy, impossible to grade accurately from the photos.
  6. Membership will absolutely be a 2021 goal for me
  7. I'm a "completionist" collector so I think OSPG is a great resource for the "gap" non-key issues in a run on well settled titles (like FF, Avengers, etc) but for hot books/keys "multiples of guide" has been a thing for at least 15 years now. It is amazing to see how much it's changed.
  8. Reading curl to the spine, edge wear to outside front cover, dog ear (breaking color) to bottom right front cover. FN (6.0)
  9. With the rounding of the edges to the cover, staple stress, and dog ear on the bottom front cover, I'd have it as a VF-. I really don't know how the near complete tear would be treated. It's almost certainly not production, so it would be a pretty big hammer. I'd think it's most appropriately QUALIFIED so 7.5 (Q). If I had to give it a technical grade, it would be in the GD - GD/VG range. The tear is too significant to call it "average" wear (FN range) so it'd have to drop to exceptionally worn, which is GD.
  10. VG (4.0) for me, but, in my experience, I've never seen a book with noticeable moisture damage grade higher than a 3.0 with CGC.
  11. FN (6.0) for me. FWIW, it's also a very good candidate for a press/clean.
  12. Slight corner wear to both corners of outside front cover, slight soiling back cover. NM- (9.2)
  13. Spine ticks, rounded corners on spine, with slight splitting of bottom of spine, slight bend bottom right front cover. VF+ (8.5)
  14. IMO - the top right crease would be consistent with VF/VF+. Pressing should resolve the lower corner issue, but the color break would, again, just my opinion, likely keep it out of the NM grade ranges. I don't think you can have that significant of a color breaking bend in VF/NM. Maybe you get lucky.
  15. Is it completely loose? Seems cover's detached and CF is popped. If completely detached 1.0. If at least some of the wraps are attached, I can see a 1.5 on a good day. IMO - as well worn as it is, without any major pieces missing, it's hard to see that getting a .5. Colors are still pretty good and pages look well preserved.
